Out of State Purchase I am a resident of Colorado Springs, CO and was looking for a very specific vehicle after mine was totaled from being rear ended. I called the Ken Gar I am a resident of Colorado Springs, CO and was looking for a very specific vehicle after mine was totaled from being rear ended. I called the Ken Garff dealership in Salt Lake because they had the vehicle in the exact Year, Make, Model, Trim, and Color that I was looking for. I left a message and received a timely response from Michael Flaherty. I explained the situation I was in and told him the vehicle I was interested in. He made sure it was still available and we did all negotiations for it over the phone. They overnighted me the paperwork to sign and found me an affordable shipping company that delivered it to my home. I had a great experience thanks to Mr. Flaherty! Thank you Michael and Ken Garff Volvo!! :) - Sharon J. More
Only volvo dealership in Utah and they know it Let's put it this way . If there was another dealership within the state Ken Garff probably would be out of business. Yesterday, 02/26/14, I brought in a client's 2006 Volvo S40 2.4i to their Volvo Service Department in Salt Lake City to have warranty work done. The car’s engine had a whistle and needed the engine oil trap assembly and hose replaced. I want to tell you of the great experience I received from the staff. I arrived on time for my 8:30 AM appointment and was promptly met by Clay Williams. Clay was pleasant and professional and took my information. He invited me to have a drink and donuts and a seat in the customer lounge. I was impressed with how efficiently I was handled in the service drive both checking the car in and checking it out. I was further impressed with how clean and neat the facility is including the customer lounge (and quiet). Most customer lounges are next to or in the middle of the busy operations of a car dealership. Theirs isn’t and I like that. After having a donut and a drink, I went to the parts counter. There I met with Dan Anderson, who listened to my needs and was pleasant and professional. He answered my questions, gave me prices and printed pictures I requested of systems breakdowns for the parts I will install in the future. He admitted to me he had only been at Volvo Parts a few months, but was able to handle my needs. Clay talked to me about a missing engine splash shield and a broken radiator fan assembly on the Volvo. I could tell he wasn’t trying to sell me parts, but was letting me know things my Technician found on the car I should know about to tell my client. He gave me prices for parts and labor. Another man stopped to say hi and make sure I was being well taken care of. I didn’t catch his name. When the car repair was done Clay had me sign documents and gave me copies of the work done. The car had been washed and was waiting for me. The repair was done in a timely manner. I appreciated the work done by Mike Brown (the Technician), Clay Williams (the Service Advisor) and Dan Anderson (Parts Professional). During my 35 years working on cars I’ve worked for and been to many dealerships and auto repair shops, so I know how things typically are in the car world. I was shocked and surprised to find the Dealership so pleasant and staffed by good people. No one jacked me around or wasted my time. I did feel heard. I sent my comments to the General Manager (Will Schaerr) and he asked me to please post my comments online. It’s hard in today’s world to find good, honest auto repair places to take your car. Most auto shops aren’t very well run. They might be good at fixing cars, but they suck at business management and customer service. I would recommend Ken Garff Volvo Salt Lake City Service to anyone looking to get their Volvo worked on. I had a great experience and would give them a grade of A+. More
I had my 2008 XC70 serviced recently and I was really impressed at how friendly the staff was. I didn't feel the usual pressure that you can get from a dealer. Lindsay especially was very nice. I just bought a used Volvo XC and wanted to take it into a certified Volvo service center. After calling several times throughout the week and leaving messages I was still unable to actually talk to anyone a certified Volvo service center. After calling several times throughout the week and leaving messages I was still unable to actually talk to anyone in the service department. Finally, after leaving a message highlighting their lack of service someone finally called me back. I took my vehicle in at 1:00 pm on friday for a oil change and a diagnostic on some steering pump issues. After being ignored by several employees while standing at the counter for 15 minutes I was finally able to get someone to acknowledge me and honor the appointment I had made. I was then told that a diagnostic would be 120 dollars and someone would be in contact me later that afternoon. After no call on friday I patiently waited until Monday at 1:00pm to inquire about my vehicle. To my surprise, the had not begun to do any work on my vehicle and I had to re-explain why my Volvo was even there in the first place (not sure why anymore.) I am a laid back guy and easily pleased so I was quite surprised at the disdain for costumer service this service center exhibited. Upon writing this review I am still not sure what the status of my car is and have not had a single call back about service. More
I do a lot of research before buying a car, so I had a good idea of what I wanted when I went to the dealership. Moises was very helpful and laid back. He let me do my own thing and figure it out for my good idea of what I wanted when I went to the dealership. Moises was very helpful and laid back. He let me do my own thing and figure it out for myself. I'm not the type that can be talked into anything. He let me take all day figuring out which vehicle I wanted and didn't rush me into a decision. It was a great buying experience. I would definitely go back and refer them to friends and family. More
I have purchased many cars over the past 10 years, all for personal use. Im a car guy I guess:) Of all my experiences with purchases, this was by far the best. By far, the best dealership and sales representative I have ever worked with, seriously. Not only was Mike always friendly, like one would expect of any professional sales rep, but he and the dealership c have ever worked with, seriously. Not only was Mike always friendly, like one would expect of any professional sales rep, but he and the dealership continually go above and beyond my wife and my expectations. Where other dealerships became visually frustrated in the past wih our many many questions, these guys seem to have endless patience! Seriously, thank you guys for making our experience easy! More
Over the weekend, I had two separate issues arise with my Volvo; the glove compartment kept opening on its own and the passenger door lock wasn't working. I called on Monday morning and Joey and Ryan, alth Volvo; the glove compartment kept opening on its own and the passenger door lock wasn't working. I called on Monday morning and Joey and Ryan, although I am sure they had a full schedule, were so understanding and made sure to fit me in. I picked up a completely repaired and beautifully cleaned car, inside and out (and it needed it!) on Monday afternoon. The process could not have been easier or gone more smoothly. I love my Volvo for many reasons but one of the biggest is the service that I get from Ken Garff. It's always delivered with a smile, a fair price and with all promises kept. I can't recommend them enough! More
