Nine months after paying cash for my new car I still don’t have the complete and final paperwork from the dealership. This means I have temporary tags and many trips to DMV to get them - wasting my time don’t have the complete and final paperwork from the dealership. This means I have temporary tags and many trips to DMV to get them - wasting my time and money. Customer service and accuracy is really lacking. I’m just at my wits end and after trying four times to get them to respond the last piece of information I need, still no response. I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone. Sadly, my next step is to go to Small Claims Court, as I think it will take a judge to tell the dealership to provide the information required by law. Sad situation indeed. If you do buy a car from these people, be sure you have EVERYTHING you need for your title before you pay them. Lesson learned indeed! More
This dealer has a culture of kindness and help. Everyone including the lot people asked if we needed anything at all. There was no heavy, keep you there till you bought a car at this dealership. Everyone including the lot people asked if we needed anything at all. There was no heavy, keep you there till you bought a car at this dealership. Just plane honest and complete help and information about the cars. Both the dealership and the shop are clean and well cared for. Our salesman's name was Alan Satterfield and we thoroughly enjoyed our purchase journey with him. We came from southern Colorado to buy the car which was equipped as we wanted. We did a lot of pre purchase education and work and discussion with Alan prior to coming to Utah to buy the car. The car was as described with no hidden surprises in the sale. An honest dealer. More
Had my eyes set on a 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge Ultimate and saw one with my exact 'wish list' of options advertised for sale at this dealership in January 2023. When inquiring, I was told that it was alrea and saw one with my exact 'wish list' of options advertised for sale at this dealership in January 2023. When inquiring, I was told that it was already sold, AND that the next several coming in had been reserved with a deposit. Fair enough. I was told that they had one being sent to them, coming in April 2023, and that I could reserve it with a $2000 deposit, as well as fully configure it. As that was acceptable, I paid the deposit, and as instructed went into the VOLVO website and built the car I wanted, and forwarded the PDF file to the salesperson. However, during the following month, things went south with the salesperson, who appeared not to read or listen to anything I emailed, sent or told him. In his response to the built, he confirmed few of the colors and options I had chosen. 'Back and forth' never fixed this, and finally, after I pasted the built into the email text one by one, and told him in person, he replied by informing me that 'a,b and c' were not 'standard' (even though the priced built on the Volvo website permitted it), and that if I 'really wanted' those options (i.e. 'black theme' instead of 'chrome', different wheel style etc.), the car would not be available until 2023 and then it likely would be a '2024' model which could not yet be built, so if I wanted a recharge this year, I would have to accept a built that was only partially mine, and, oh, now would not arrive until July-August 2023 (instead of initially said to be April). Add to that, that despite several requests, I was unable to get a receipt and written conditions for the deposit, just told that it was 'refundable' until the car was at the dealership, I was also told that they didn't want to see my trade in until the new car was in the dealership meaning (to me) that they could offer an unacceptable price for my 6 year old car, forcing me to either accept it or lose my $2K. Also, when the salesperson sent attachment files through their proxy server (EmailService@DealerSocket.com) - which happened half the time, the attachments disappeared, with the salesperson telling me, that it was probably because I didn't know how to open a pdf file, despite sending him screenshots of the pdf files I did got in the emails sent directly from the Ken Garff server. Finally, when I told him I had enough, and wanted to stop further negotiation, I was told to email my CC number (or call him) as they otherwise 'could not refund my deposit', neither of which I wanted to do, this being unsecure. Instead, I sent the information in a letter to the sales manager, in it also explaining my disappointment, but never heard anything back, and had to inquire as to when I could expect the refund. Of the 8 cars I have purchased from Ken Garff over 25 years (Hyundai, Mercedes), this is my first highly unsatisfactory experience with a Ken Garff new car purchase. I really want a Volvo CX60 recharge, but with Ken Garff being the only Volvo dealership in the state, I may be forced to get another brand, as even if I am able to buy it out of state, it will have to be serviced at the Ken Garff Volvo dealership, which if anything like their sales department, I would like to avoid. Review of the service department- Most specifically Detailing service. I took the XC90 in for 3 things- 1- repair manufacture defect of the AC cooling line. (out of warranty) 2- Periodic maintenanc Detailing service. I took the XC90 in for 3 things- 1- repair manufacture defect of the AC cooling line. (out of warranty) 2- Periodic maintenance and Tire Replacement. 3- Full wash/clean/detail. 1- Repair is done, AC system functions correctly now. 2- Periodic maintenance is done, and Tires were replaced, but Tires + Alignment cost me a couple hundred dollars more. (I would drop to a 4 star for this regarding cost) 3- The detailing was not done, and I was charged. Main thing is I had hard water spots on the glass that I was unable to get out washing it myself, but everyone says detail shops can get these out. (this is why they went to a 1 star rating in google from me) I even provided photos in that review. I did the research online regarding water spot removal and found a product that claimed to be able to get the spots out. I bought it, and it indeed works. It takes quite a bit of effort, but works great. I also talked to another detail shop, and they told me those spots are not so hard to get out and that they get out significantly harder spots all the time. Lastly- My google review has been up for a couple weeks now. I even posted photos on the google review. There has not been any effort from Ken Garff Volvo to respond to my review, or make it right. Great experience buying my first Volvo!! Mitch at Ken Garff was awesome. He was very upbeat and supportive throughout this process. He had the car that I wanted moved over from the other lot by the time I got there so there would be no wait in that regard. He was patient and informative. He was able to answer any of my questions. It was th 4th of July and he did not rush me and made me feel like I was important. It was really hot out and Mitch made sure that my friend and I always had a water or whatever we needed. He made leasing a Volvo a great experience. The financial end was quick with no issues. Mitch also followed up to see if I had any questions and to make sure I was satisfied. I love my Volvo!! I would highly recommend Mitch and the SLC dealership in general to any of my friends and family. Thank you! More

never prepay the service department for anything I needed service on my vehicle, I brought it in and had to rent a car while they had the car. They let it sit for 2 days before even looking at it while I was paying to rent a car. I had to bring it back later once the part came in which was the wrong part, so I had to bring it back a third time to have the repair complete. Once again, the part was the wrong part. I brought the car back to have an alignment and they make me pay for the alignment and pre-pay for the repairs and part that were going to be completed later that week. After the part was wrong twice, I decided to cancel my appointment for the repair. They said they would refund the almost $500 due to me but never did. I called and email multiple times and I am still out $500. More
