Poor, expensive, disappointing service department My review is for their service department. Very poor services and disappointing experiences I had there. First, I had some issues with my fuel and MP My review is for their service department. Very poor services and disappointing experiences I had there. First, I had some issues with my fuel and MPG and ask them for a quick check. Without telling me, they put more than 110 Miles on my car which I think they could do the test with less millage or at least they could tell me before that and could ask for my consent. At the same test trip by Mercedes of SLC, a rock chip occurred on my windshield which they repaired and again extended later and they just repaired again. Now I have an ugly repaired rock chip on my windshield which goes back to that long long test trip by Mercedes Benz of SLC. Second, few month later, I had an issue with my engine. Engine light turned on and the high pressure pump failed. I took my car to SLC Mercedes Benz they gave me a loaner car and kept my car for about 3, 4 days. Then they called me that the part is not available and we should order it from Germany, You should bring the loaner back and drive your car with the engine light on since they believe its is not a bad problem. After about 60 days they never followed back and when I call them they keep saying we have not heard anything about that ordered part yet (waiting from January 2018). Once I talked to the same dealership for a recall schedule for November 2017 and they have been supposed to call me back for that which never happened. Comparing with other dealerships like BMW that I've been in touch, I have received worst services, less respect and follow ups and more expensive services. For example if you buy a part from BMW like a door light projector you just need to pay for part but in MB of SLC they ask for part and labor which is sometimes more expensive than just the part. Other example is detail services and so on. More

Took my E class in for a regular oil change. Took my E-class to get serviced, simple fluid change. Never had any Malfunction indication prior to taking it to Mercedes. I leave the shop and about Took my E-class to get serviced, simple fluid change. Never had any Malfunction indication prior to taking it to Mercedes. I leave the shop and about 20 minutes later while driving. A brake sensor code comes on, so i take it back figuring it might just need to be reset. I speak to the Manager about the issue he says the part now needs to be replaced and will run $1800. Too much of coincidence that i now need that part place after having it serviced. On another note my service came with wash and vaccum. My interior is the same as when i drove it in, no signs of running a vaccum through my floor. A bunch of lying, dishonest individuals, out to squeeze any penny out of your pocket. The service manager Joel Turner and the technicians are a joke. Manage their job duties very poorly. You'd expect high quality service from Mercedes-Benz, what a shame. I realize i'm not the only customer, who coincidently had a similar issues. More
RUN!!! RUN! Recently I took my car to Mercedes of SLC to have the Safety Restraint System (SRS) warning light checked. After several hours and a loaner veh RUN! Recently I took my car to Mercedes of SLC to have the Safety Restraint System (SRS) warning light checked. After several hours and a loaner vehicle the dealer told me that it was a seat control module and the repair would be $1100. I inquired if they checked the fuses and relays and they assured me that they had thoroughly checked the car. To me their diagnosis didn’t seem right because of the symptoms. Being mechanically inclined I told the dealer I would like to have a second opinion. I took the car directly to an independent repair facility where, unlike Mercedes, they let me come out in the shop and actually talk to the mechanic while he hooked up the computer to my car. I told him that I thought it was a fuse/relay. Within about 10 minutes he conducted a few tests and said he too thought it was a fuse. We opened the fuse panel and in full-view of me and a subordinate I watched him as he looked for the fuse that completed the circuit to the SRS: IT WAS MISSING! The mechanic went to his work bench and placed the 20amp, .50 cent fuse in the slot and the problem was solved. Someone at the dealer had pulled the fuse and then told me it needed a new part. I immediately returned to the dealer (it had been about an hour) and confronted the Service Manager, and the mechanic. I said they were either: one, liars, or two, incompetent. In either case they lied, either about checking the fuses, or lied about the diagnosis. When confronted it smelled like a cover up! There was a lot of fast talking and a truck load of “how dare you impugn our integrity”. Simply stated, “They were caught disabling my car and trying to get me to pay for an unnecessary $1100 repair”. The service manager in my opinion was terrible! History has taught us that at times the cover-up can be as-bad-as the crime. There is a reason this dealership has many more complaints! They should take care; someone might have them on a hidden camera next time! More
