Prior to visiting the dealership, I confirmed with a sales associate named Christian Cheyne that a specific vehicle (identified by stock number) was available. On Saturday, I completed the purchase proc sales associate named Christian Cheyne that a specific vehicle (identified by stock number) was available. On Saturday, I completed the purchase process and was led to believe I was buying a brand new vehicle. At the time of delivery, I was informed that the second key was missing because the vehicle had been mistakenly marked as sold to another individual, and that person had been given my second key. This was presented as a minor issue and made it seem like it was an issue with their inventory tracking rather than them actually going through the whole process of selling the vehicle to someone else. However, on Tuesday, I was contacted and told I needed to return the vehicle because it had actually been processed as a pre-owned sale, making it ineligible for new vehicle incentives. I was instructed to return to the dealership to exchange it for another vehicle. This resulted in multiple unnecessary trips: • Wednesday: I was told the replacement vehicle was ready, but it had visible damage (rear bumper scrape) and was not actually ready for delivery. • I was asked to sign the transfer documents and take the damaged vehicle and return later for repair, which I declined. • I instead drove the original vehicle home and returned again on Friday once repairs were supposedly complete. During this process, I was promised compensation by Christian (a full tank of gas and an additional tank for the inconvenience, in total 3 full tanks). This was later retracted, despite the fact that I made multiple additional trips and one of the tanks was filled on Wednesday into the pre-owned vehicle I returned on Friday, which, during that time, I only used to make a round trip from and to the dealership. Additionally, the timing of communication is concerning: I was only informed of the major issue after I had already submitted a positive customer review. This experience reflects: • Misrepresentation of a vehicle as new when it was not eligible as such • Poor inventory and sales management practices • Failure to honor verbal commitments made to resolve the situation • Significant inconvenience and wasted time during a period in which I am preparing to move out of state More
