The whole buying process was simple, straight forward and honest. I picked up my new outback in about an hour after making the arrangements with Rob over the internet. Price was as agreed, and the car was honest. I picked up my new outback in about an hour after making the arrangements with Rob over the internet. Price was as agreed, and the car was perfect. Geoff the finance manager was great, fast accurate paperwork. I will be back for the service in the brand new building. Cant wait to see it done. More
Nothing went right with this dealership. I agreed on a price and put down a credit card deposit over the phone since I live a few hours away. When I went to pick up the vehicle, they convinced me that the price and put down a credit card deposit over the phone since I live a few hours away. When I went to pick up the vehicle, they convinced me that they could give me a better interest rate than my bank financing, so I spent the extra 2 hours talking to their finance manager. The guy was pretty slick and convinced me to buy the gap coverage w/ some horror stories. After I got home, I thought better of it, and tried to call the guy back to cancel the gap insurance (he said I could cancel it anytime, and it'd be easy). Of course suddenly the guy is unreachable and never returns my calls. I call another finance manager at Ganley and they tell me that they've sent my paperwork off to the central office and can't get my GAP insurance information unless I come down and fill out a form. I ask if I can just call the gap insurance company directly and cancel through them. They tell me that THEY DON'T KNOW who my gap coverage is with and it'd take hours to find the paperwork!! They claimed to use several different companies, but they also wouldn't give me the list of supposed companies. So this is where I realize Ganley is either a bunch of crooks or just really incompetent, and it's hard to believe anyone can be that incompetent. At this point I book time off of work to go back down there and take care of it in person. Last minute before I start driving the 2 hours, I decide to try something different. I call a random finance guy, tell them that so-and-so finance manager was supposed to send me a copy of the GAP contract for my files, but I hadn't gotten them yet. They tell me that I should just call EasyCare gap directly and have them send the paperwork to me. Ha. So suddenly they know exactly who is doing my GAP? Anyways, I call EasyCare, the lady says I can cancel by faxing her a cancellation form, and I get a confirmation that it's been cancelled the next day. Also, other items: Ganley did a poor job inspecting my vehicle. This was in the winter time, so I didn't think to roll down the windows. Of course there was an issue w/ the window that had to be warranty serviced. Same goes for various other components (fit and finish type things). This is my 2nd VW, and I'm willing to put up w/ a certain number of minor quality issues compared to other makes just because VW's are fun to drive and have relatively nice interiors, but these were things that should have been caught before the customer had a chance to notice them. Overall this experience has left me feeling less good about VW ownership, and I'll probably avoid them from now on. More
We felt like we were trying to be pushed into signing a lease contract with Ganley Subaru. And after they couldn't get to where we needed payment wise, they held my keys and my credit card hostage while th lease contract with Ganley Subaru. Good price on cars, but once you've signed on the dotted line, they don't want to give you the time of day. It's crazy; I can barely get the salesman to stay on the phone with me for three minutes, and the line, they don't want to give you the time of day. It's crazy; I can barely get the salesman to stay on the phone with me for three minutes, and their customer service attitude pretty much consists of "if you have a problem, take your business elsewhere." Professional & friendly to deal with, even when they are providing a complete lack of customer service. More
I had trouble getting anyone at this dealership to respond to my requests after purchasing my car here (the purchase itself was quite an unpleasant experience - watch out for the tricks they try to pl respond to my requests after purchasing my car here (the purchase itself was quite an unpleasant experience - watch out for the tricks they try to play). Anyway, after I got the car, they were supposed to send in the registration for my car - but they waited until the very last moment until my temporary plates were almost expired! And I had to call them numerous times about this. Also, I got the car financed through VW - however, I didn't get the paperwork until my payment was almost overdue. Also, they forgot to put on a front licence plate holder when I went back to get this done, the service department had no record of me purchasing a car there. They were about to charge me for putting on the holder! I would avoid this dealer since they seem to be pretty disorganized and the sales people quite frankly are arrogant and rude. More
This is the worst dealership I have ever been too. They made us fill out all of the paperwork (credit check info, etc.) thinking we had a deal and then they came back and changed everything once they had a made us fill out all of the paperwork (credit check info, etc.) thinking we had a deal and then they came back and changed everything once they had all of our personal information. When we walked out of the dealership (after finally getting the key to our potential trade-in back) the salesguy followed us to our car and blocked our path so we still couldn't leave. What a waste of an afternoon. And besides, the sales staff was totally unknowledgeable - they claimed VW was the largest car manufacturer in the world. I would avoid this dealership. I would also avoid VW cars since every VW I have every driven has plastic parts falling off the inside of the car. More
The worst delaerhsip I have ever had the displeasure in working with. Have made multiple calls to Volkswagen in order to get anything done. Dealership acts like they work for VW, instead of telling you the working with. Have made multiple calls to Volkswagen in order to get anything done. Dealership acts like they work for VW, instead of telling you the truth (when you call VW and call them on thier bluf) that they are, naturally, just Ganley employees. The sales people are the worst I have dealt with(I bought my last VW from them) Matt K simply didn't know what he was doing (had to talk to his manager every second I asked him a question during the negotiation process) and Matt B was a total slimeball and wears too tight of a knock off (Express) Ed Hardy shirt all of the time and looks funny. Total clown who's perpetually living his "glimenx moment" being at Velvet Dog on W. 6th circa 2001. The service department, while mostly polite, are just total crooks. Chris is the only one who acts like a real human being and talks to you like one. The others just take thier good old time before they ever return your call. Maybe if you are married or have multiple cars it's ok but when you only have one car yer screwed for life. Drop the car of on a Sunday night for a simple problem and you won't hear back from them until 5:00 p.m. Monday. The service manager, Jason, barks at his employees and talks in a demeaning manner to his customers. If I worked for him I would just quit but not before I laid him out. Totally the worst. Did I mention my car is still under manufactuers warranty?? You think this would naturally solve my problems! It doesn't... couldn't imagine what they would treat you if you simply came to them out of warranty. You must need to be one of Matt B's boyfriends in order to get a loaner. VW's service is the worst and it starts from the top. No other explanation why their entire service department hasn't been let go. I will give Chris the benefit of the doubt. Guy should just open up his own shop. VW must like having a guy like Jason in charge as he will fight tooth and nail to never go above and beyond. I guess he's "Der Fuehrer"... so to speak. Ganley is the worst. Basically criminals. I bought my VW from a shady auction run by Russians and while I would never want them to service my cars, I'd prefer to do business with them as last I checked they don't need to add with thier fingers and toes like Matt K had to when I bought my last one from them. Broken Promise! And poor workmanship! Who am I... I Broken Promise! And poor workmanship! Who am I... I am a 27 year old medical student who grew up on a farm in north west Ohio, and used to build custom drag racing cars. I know a thing or two about cars or mechanics in general... The day I bought my 07 Rabbit from Matt, I was promised my first service at no cost. I ended up paying 125 for my first service one month later... Maybe a dumb move on my part to not get that in writing? Sometime around the 30k service range, These guys rotated my wheels and tires for me which was included with my oil change. Later that week I went home to my family farm to install my winter tires. I put my impact wrench on the lugs and it wouldn't break them free. It took a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar, plus 4 feet of Steel pipe on the breaker bar to break the lug bolts free! Plus one 200 pound guy on the end of it. I found this to be a little excessive. I put the wheels on my race car on at 80 - 100 pound feet of torque and have never had a wheel fall off. So, Ganley won't be seeing my business again after this experience. What if I were to have a flat tire on the side of the road? I would have never made it home! Thanks but no thanks Ganley! More
