The employees of Mentor Kia are very customer oriented. Whenever I have had to call or visit the dealership everyone is very helpful. If they do not have the answer to your question right at that time, th Whenever I have had to call or visit the dealership everyone is very helpful. Peggy was very patient and great to work with. after going over what options/features I was looking for, She took the time to show us a few different vehicles and we narrowed it down from there. I first scheduled an appointment at 6:30 PM with Tom to discuss a Sportage SX. When I arrived, he was busy so I wandered around for well over an hour and a half before he was available to negotiate with me discuss a Sportage SX. When I arrived, he was busy so I wandered around for well over an hour and a half before he was available to negotiate with me. At this point we did the normal back and forth until we settled on a price we both agreed upon. I was also eligible for a special interest rate through KIA since I had excellent credit. They did not have the exact vehicle I wanted on the lot, so I left a deposit to guarantee they would get one from another local dealership. Three days later, I get a call from Tom stating they had the vehicle I wanted and he would like me to come in and complete the deal at 11:30 AM. I showed up on time and had to to wait around for about 2 hours before he was free to come start the paperwork. In hindsight, I should have just left at this point. Once we started signing papers, he would show up with a new piece of paperwork for me to sign about every 15 minutes. Around 4 PM, I finally made it to the finance manager. As we started the paperwork, he began trying to go through it very quickly. As we were going through it, I asked him why he had me sign a document for 5/3 Bank when I was financing through KIA. He said something about them using a local bank. When got to the trade value, I noticed they had lowered it by $800 from the price we agreed upon. I called him out on it and he said it must have been an accident. So I had him stop and I asked to see the rest of the paperwork to check for more “accidents”. Sure enough, they had “accidentally” raised the price of the vehicle $800 from what we negotiated. They had also “accidentally” given me a 3.9% interest rather than the 1.9% through KIA. He clearly had the piece of paper in front of him the entire time that had what we negotiated on a few nights before. The price and trade were written very largely in green highlighter and labeled “sell” and “trade” and were taking up about half the page. Everything else was written small in black ink. Anyway, he went away for a while and came back with the correct numbers and we finished the paperwork. After this I got the keys and went home. When I got home, I was admiring my new car when I noticed a large section of scratches on the hood of my car. They had buffed the area to where you could not see the scratches well in the light, but they were very visible out of direct sunlight. I also noticed that one of the chrome strips along the passenger side window still had a rubber protector on it. I removed this. I started looking inside the vehicle and I started noticing that many items had a plastic wrap that was held on by rubber bands. I had to get a knife and remove all of these plastic covers and rubber bands myself. I found the “Customer Delivery Vehicle Worksheet” in the glove box and it's blank! They never filled it out. They never even did an inspection of my car before they gave it to me! Just washed it and gave me the keys. In summary, just choose another dealership if you want a KIA. I have assisted 2 people in buying KIAs at OTHER dealerships since this event and both experiences have been excellent. Their slogan is "We Treat You Like Family". I guess in their family deception, sleight of hand, lying, and laziness are common. UPDATE: So after writing this review I received a message from Ryan at Mentor KIA. He said “From what you've written I can see why your upset. I am here to help in anyway I can. Can we get together and discuse a way to make it up to you?”. So I called the dealership, asked for Ryan, was sent to his voicemail and left a message identifying myself and left a contact number. It’s been over 2 weeks now and still no response. In his original message he also said “Although you had this experience this isn't what I want for any of our customers. And we have made changes in the sales process to make sure this doesn't happen again. Thank you.” Well I am not sure what changes have been made, but they do not seem to have taken effect yet, or he doesn't abide by them. KIA should be embarrassed to have dealerships like this representing their name. More

She worked tirelessly in the freezing cold to test drive the vehicles we were considering. She discussed ownership options of leasing vs purchasing and provided monthly payment amounts for each. With her help we decided to purchase the 2013 Kia Soul in our desired color of Titanium Grey. They did not have one on the lot, but within a week we had our new Soul. I love my car! Thanks to Peggy for being so knowledgeable and patient as we went through this process. I would highly recommend Peggy for anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Mentor Kia. More
