BUYER BEWARE! !!!! So my wife and i had our car stolen last January, we also had 3 other cars that we had or purchased that ended up in the scrapyard in 2024. a sl !!!! So my wife and i had our car stolen last January, we also had 3 other cars that we had or purchased that ended up in the scrapyard in 2024. a slue of medical problems and we have a y=3 year old daughter it was a rough 2024. that being said we needed a vehicle and decided to come to Ken Ganley Kia for a gently used vehicle. Upon walking in we were set up with a sales reprasentative named ZAID. he asked us what type of car we were looking for and our price range and proceeded to show us vehicles. we ere interested in several but zaid insisted that this car would be a good fit for us and knowing we were in a bad situation already he assures us that this 2011 chevy traverse was exactly what we needed. so my wife and i drive the car seperatly with this salesman and she decides she wants it. The car a 2011 Chevy Traverse with around 117,000 miles on it. The price tag was $6853 and we traded in a doge nitro for 500$ off the purchase price. We get home on a saturday and did not go anywhere till monday morning in that vehicle. Start the car on monday and we have a check engine light (of course) So i hooked up my scanner to the vehicle and read the engine codes. it was a TIMING ISSUE! The timing belt was bad and needed the engine dropped out from the bottom of the car and a new timing belt and all the internal engine parts related to the timing needed changed. They had the car for about a week before they told us this. The total cost for the timing belt and the labor was going to be around $8,000.00 which is more than we paid for the car. they kept the car and got another quote from Zappys Auto Care for around$3,800.00 So they say Zappys is going to make the repairs and they will pay the $3800.00 Two months goes by and we still did not have the car meanwhile we have been paying on our loan from purchasing our vehicle. They call us up one day and say its ready. we pickup the car and it seems to be driving great. we drove the car for a few months and it seemed fine. now the car wont turn anymore and is making a crazy screeching sound.... Power steering went out. We take it up to Zappys to get fixed and its on our dime this time Zappys says the rack and pinion needs changed, the power steering resevoir (pump) and all the lines need changed to the power steering. . Total cost for the repair: $2,038.00 We had no other choice but to get it fixed it is our only reliable vehicle for the family. we put it on a credit card because we dont have the cash and Zappys had the car for a day. go to pickup the car and we drove it literally across the street to the gas station and my wife says " we need to go back somethings not right" We had a leak and a rattling noise under the steering wheel. we take the car back and sit there for almost two hours waiting @ zappys. he says the new power steering lines were not clipped in and were rattling/leaking. OK! THANKS! he has the mechanic make some adjustments and then tells us that he does not trust the power steering pump (new one that they just put in supposedly could be bad?) he says if the loud whining noise doesnt go away bring it back in a few days. (tows arent free buddy) So we head home the second time. now the car is super bouncy and throws you all over the place and its making this loud whining sound. and pulls vary hard to the left driving down the road. which wasnt an issue before. now we have to go back to zappys a third time for them to re align the car....... and still no resolution to the loud pump.. We are good people and did not deserve this especially for paying what we paid. Now this $6800.00 car is up to almost $14,000.00 and we still dont have a reliable car to drive .
