Had a great experience with Kearny Mesa Subaru, in leasing my 2025 Forester. Rick in sales was terrific. Very knowledgeable and patient. Andy in financing and Cameron in redelivery were great. I will purchase another car from this dealer as I like the car they sell, but I am unimpressed with the service department and am uncertain if I will continue to have my car serviced at the dealership. This review is for Camron Cook of Kerney Mesa Subaru in San Diego. He and I met for an hour after I bought me Forrester. He gave me lessons on the operation and functions of all the buttons on the panel. W San Diego. He and I met for an hour after I bought me Forrester. He gave me lessons on the operation and functions of all the buttons on the panel. We had a great time. He is professional and easy to understand. He answered all my questions. I really enjoyed the mini class. Now all I have to do is remember all that he taught me. Camron is a great person and if I have anymore questions to feel free to call hiim for help. Thank you, Camron. More
This an updated review from a year ago on Google. I continue to be very happy with the service at Kearney Mesa Subaru and with my ownership of 2019 Subaru Outback that I purchased new from that deal I continue to be very happy with the service at Kearney Mesa Subaru and with my ownership of 2019 Subaru Outback that I purchased new from that dealership.. My Subaru needed a costly repair recently and there was a legitimate question of whether it would be covered by Subaru. Ultimately, Subaru and the dealership came through with the repair. Could not be happier with Subaru and Kearny Mesa Subaru. In my experience they both stand by their Subaru vehicles. A shoutout to Erik in the Subaru service department for his work and communication with me on this matter.. More
We came to this dealership to purchase a used subaru. The car we had wanted to purchase was sold prior to our arrival. We then looked at a 2008 ACURA for a second time, realizing that its age could mean encountering repairs sooner than later. Supposedly the car had been given a complete once over by the shop on sight and it had passed the smog test. Within 24 hours we had a warning light go off, I texted the sales person and he was going to consult with service on Monday (this was a Saturday). We never hear a word. Within two weeks of purchase we have encountered $2600 worth of work including an extremely conspicuous oil leak. Again I texted the sales person, this time the used car manager is suppose to call on Monday. Giant eye roll here, no call yet. What have I gotten from all this? The shop at Kearny Mesa Subaru sucks if they cannot spot an obvious oil leak. The personnel also are not quality as they prefer to ignore situations. Our $8000 car has turned into and $11,000 car. Poor training provided by staff on using any of the safety gear/monitoring systems and general setup of the vehicle's operational systems before leaving the dealership. We were informed during our test safety gear/monitoring systems and general setup of the vehicle's operational systems before leaving the dealership. We were informed during our test drive of the vehicle that the auto start/stop function could be permanently disabled in the car's settings, but I'm now told that it cannot be shut down, so we were lied to by the sales rep, as we hate that particular function of the car's operation, which was made perfectly clear during the test drive. Never told that a separate device needed to be purchased to achieve deactivation. No follow-up from the dealership via email or tele, other than this request for a rating. We were supposed to get some hands-on training via an online Zoom call which was never set up as we were informed would happen, just a lot of talk from everyone at the dealership from the sales manager down to the sales rep. Why would anyone expect anything different these days? In retrospect, if we had known that the auto start/stop function couldn't be permanently disabled other than shutting it off each time the car is started, we would have never purchased a Subaru brand automobile. Respectfully, with disappointed regards, MHL. More
