Do not try to sell your car back to Kearny Mesa Kia. They will bait and switch you. I had taken my car in for service and they offered to purchase it after the service was completed. They inspected the vehicle and made an offer which was then negotiated and I accepted. Few days later I take the car in to complete the sale and they offered me 2k less than what they originally offered me. I would understand if they didn’t inspect the car and found something but this was a vehicle that was in their possession and inspected by one of their workers and was told that management did approve of the amount. They will never have my business again for the xx that they pulled on me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this dealership go elsewhere. Be warned!! More

I dropped off my vehicle on 7/20/24 for service. I went to the dealership during my lunch and was informed a technician was assigned to my vehicle and they will give me a call with an update. I never received a call, 7/23 I 've called numerous times, sent numerous text messages and still no response. I have no idea what is going on with my vehicle, I am frustrated and upset. As I write this review, I'm still awaiting on an update. More
It was just horrifyng to see my car has been sitting in the for 8 weeks and nothing was done. At the same time, I went there 4 times within a 7 week period and I was not able to pick up my car. First of all, my first service quit 5 days after I dropped off my car in late May. First, I was never informed of any updates on the repairs from him after he quitted. I went into the dealar 3 times in the first week and my car was still not ready. Then I was assigned to another service manager who promised to follow up with the electricial issue as I was telling that I will be gone for 8 weeks and this should give him enough time to do a though diagnosis of the exact problem. He told me he will keep me posted on any progress while I was gone. No email to me for 8 weeks while I emailed him twice in 8 weeks. No response again. At the same time I kept calling and calling and left numerous messages to call. No response. There must have been a dozen phone calls since Day 1 and nobody responded. I explaaned to them that I purchased my 2022 Kia Soul from them and was very happy with their service.. I think the whole service department has been running on automatic mode and nobody seems to know what they are doing at all times. Finally I got upset and I will pick up my car after 8 weeks without any kind of diagnosis. What a waste of time on my behalf!! The service staff needs to be more co-ordinated and worked together to clean up this mess! More
This place is a mess. We stayed at the dealership until 10 pm to sign our lease, only to find out a week later that it wasn't actually signed. We were out of town when we got a text to resign electronically, but the link expired before we could use it. A few days later, we got a notice that our lease was canceled and the car would be taken back. The finance person (Jessica) knew the digital signing was down at the time of signing but insisted the paper copies were the same, which was clearly false. After calling our salesperson and working for days, we finally got a new link. Since then, I texted our salesperson (Noah) about a missing key we were promised (because they let someone walk off the lot with the other key). I called and emailed management but got no response. When I finally got through, I overheard the manager (Mike) confirming that the salesperson had received my messages but forgot to order the key. The manager then blamed it on a recent system hack, despite the salesperson admitting he just forgot. The manager promised to include me in an email to order the key, but I still haven't received it or a response from anyone (Sara) at this dealership. Love the car, but I wouldn't recommend doing business here. More
My Spouse and I visited Kearny Mesa Kia over the weekend to see the 2024 EV9. Our current EV is up for lease return later this year, and we wanted to check out our options from different automakers. When we parked, Ross, the Sales Manager, was out in front of the dealership, and when we told him why we were there, he immediately called Modar to have him come to show us the EV9s they had available on the lot. Modar was very helpful in answering our questions, professional, and in no way was he ever pushy during our visit. We made it clear when Modar introduced himself that we were just shopping and would not take a new car home that day. Modar said no problem and proceeded to give us a nearly 45-minute demo of the EV9. He let us both test-drive the GT he had on the lot and then showed us examples of the lower-trim models for comparison. What really impressed me (other than the EV9 itself, Wow, is it a great EV!) is how laid-back and non-intrusive Modar was; he never asked us any cringy salesperson questions like what our jobs/incomes were, our credit scores, or what our payment was on our current car, etc. Other than asking what make/model EV we currently had and when our lease was due for return, he focused solely on showing us all the many features of the EV9 and allowed us to figure out if it'd be a good fit for us. At the end, he shook our hands, thanked us for coming by, and gave us his business card to call him if we decided to go with the EV9. Again, I was shocked there was no attempt to drag us into the dealership for a sales pitch or hard sell by a sales manager. We still need to test drive a couple of other EVs before we make a decision, but if we end up going for the EV9, I will definitely give Modar, Ross, and Kearny Mesa Kia the first shot at getting us into our next EV. More

Jakob picked up the vehicle and brought it to the lot for my test drive. No high pressure sales, we negotiated a good price. My expectation was to wrap up the paperwork in 90 minutes. This has got to be the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. First off attitude from Sasa when I asked her a question about the service manager availability, then my new advisor lies to me sayin I’ve ever had. First off attitude from Sasa when I asked her a question about the service manager availability, then my new advisor lies to me saying the phones were down for a week - so this is why they don’t return messages? I’ve been calling for months. The service advisor assigned to me in April, left this dealership and apparently nobody took the time to follow up on her clients. I have been calling the service department for months (over 12 times) leaving message after message and speaking to the operator for information on the parts ordered for my sensors error. Nobody called back - ever. I finally got an appointment (2weeks out) I again asked if they had my parts and the operator couldn’t say but she would leave a message for an advisor, still no call back. I called 4 times prior to my appointment within the 2 weeks and left messages and no call back. Here I am finally getting the work done, and no the part is not here - not surprised. I have to wait for the part and 4-5 hours for results that I made the appointment for, why? This dealership doesn’t care about their customers because they know we can’t go with out the necessary car repairs. If I could rate them lower I would, as soon as I can I am dumping the Kia 2023, I’ve already had 2 recalls, software update not automatic you habe to have it serviced, and the sensor error in the first year of ownership. I would say Kia service does not rate, there are numerous people here not sure why their service is so horrible. More
