Hid issues with the vehicle in their pictures online and never said anything when asked over the phone. Had nothing to say when confronted in person, acting like they didn’t know anything about it. My 2 experiences with Tim 1-on the phone with him being pushy about making a “deal”when I told him 3 times that I would like to talk tomorrow and that I was now going to be late to my daughters T ball game pushy about making a “deal”when I told him 3 times that I would like to talk tomorrow and that I was now going to be late to my daughters T ball game. 2-drove 4 hours to look at a truck I was very interested in. I took the truck to another auto shop to get a pre purchase inspection. When I got back I explained a few issues that are going to need to be addressed. There is a visible oil leak maybe from oil pan seal? (couldn’t exactly tell you were it’s leaking without completely diagnosing the problem), A coolant leak with a quarter of coolant it should have in it, you could smell the coolant when you get out of the truck after driving it.. Brakes pads looked new however they were put on rotors that should have been replaced with new pads (deep groves that catches your fingernail when you run your finger over the rotors) Tie rods were loose with play in them ( not terrible but a future thing to take care of) Shocks were pretty shot. Rusty and some oil on shock body due to the shocks leaking Truck had a couple thousand miles until a regular 90,000 maintenance routine. The 90,000 mile maintenance if fairly expensive. When we came back after getting a professional inspection from a third party automotive mechanic we brought the stuff up to the salesman Dom. He listened and heard us out then went to talk to his boss. Tim the sales manager came over and rudely told us “we are not going do anything about these things, that would cost thousands of dollars!” That was exactly why we brought it to a mechanic to see if there were issues that we will be paying for right away. He told us “I don’t think the truck needs any of this taken care of”. I asked him if he has even looked at the truck. So, He is telling me that the professional automotive mechanic is wrong and the truck is perfect without even personally looking at the truck….. He proceeded to tell us “this is not the vehicle for you”. If you want to buy a vehicle, I would steer clear of this guy… I instantly got turned off the first time on the phone with him and did not want to deal with him when I drove down there. Do not deal with this guy. Unless you want him to be rude and raise his voice then proceed to tell you that “this is not the vehicle for you” My advice to him would be to talk to the customer a different way. If he wanted to sell the truck I would have totally bought it if he respectfully told me what they could have done for me. The first time I talked to him he proposed to drop the price 1700$ due to the upcoming 90,000 mile maintenance. Than unwilling to negotiate anything more then 300$ more or to fix/look at the truck after finding all the current problems. The biggest thing he was hung up on was the rotors… He didn’t think they were bad without even looking at the truck. Personally I wouldn’t care if they didn’t do anything for the brakes and rotors. I was more concerned about the leaks from oil and coolant. The truck was actually a reasonably priced in “good “ condition according to KBB. After the third party inspection, it was no longer reasonably priced. With the oil and coolant leak it drop its conditions to “fair” “An oil pan seal leak and a coolant leak are classified on Kelley Blue Book (KBB) as major mechanical defects that require immediate mechanical repair” 2022 GMC sierra 1500 AT4 3.0 diesel- needs work before anyone should buy it. Make sure you bring any vehicle you are looking at to a third party mechanic. Thank for the experience Tim! More
