Sheisty is an understatement. Listed a car on Autotrader and Facebook marketplace for 23.5k. Refused to talk price on the phone (typical salesman stuff) I asked specifically for a Listed a car on Autotrader and Facebook marketplace for 23.5k. Refused to talk price on the phone (typical salesman stuff) I asked specifically for an out the door cash price. After I drove over an hour out to them, they revealed 11k in fees. Sure, 2.5 or so is expected for tax tags and title, but 11k? When asked about the fees, I was told that about 4k of it was security hardware that they added to the car and couldn't be removed. Well that's now part of the car, why is it hidden in fees and not in the price? 5k for a "reconditioning fee," mind you the car that looked perfect in the pictures was littered with dents and scratches as well as interior pieces falling apart. When I asked the manager could only say "it's for oil changes and maintenance." You know, the kind of things that any dealership should just eat the cost of as the price of doing business instead of overcharging a customer for in a hidden fee. When pressed on the matter, the manager kept saying the fees are listed on the website, which yes they are, minus the 5k recon fee - also auspiciously hidden in a tab titled cash price that is almost designed to not even be noticed by reading the listing. But like I told him multiple times, I didn't look at their website. I looked at Autotrader which said absolutely nothing about any of it. Facebook marketplace also has their listing with no fees shown. The manager said at best he can split the fees with me, to which I walked out. Typical bait and switch and shady practices. More
