I always have a good experience. Took them a while to figure out what was going on, so they gave me a ride home and sent him back when the job was done. I've had the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for about 8 months and in that time have had 3 service visits with Shawnee Mission Hyundai. It's been very easy to make the appointments - everyone there has been very and in that time have had 3 service visits with Shawnee Mission Hyundai. It's been very easy to make the appointments - everyone there has been very friendly. They have early appointments available and I can usually arrive at around 7 and be on the road by 8. The waiting area is comfortable and well stocked with amenities (tv, wifi, available coffee, soda machine, etc). It all adds up to a pleasant service experience. More
Scott has been my service adviser for my routine maintenance, and through an ordeal with a pesky squirrel who had a part of my wiring harness for a snack. Our experience with Shawnee Mission Hyundai Service Shop resulted in knowing that these guys will cheat you blind if given a chance. On the Hyundai Entourage 2007 Van, I had already diagnosed the problem a resulted in knowing that these guys will cheat you blind if given a chance. On the Hyundai Entourage 2007 Van, I had already diagnosed the problem as a leaky air intake hose. My wife took the car in for regular maintenance and to get a quote on repairs. The quote to repair the leaking "air intake hose" was $420.00 ($105.52) for the part (By the way, the Manufacturer list price for the part is $77.03). When we declined to have the service done, it was discovered that the original quote was a "misquote" and the new estimate was $345.00 to replace an air intake hose. We declined. I went and picked up the part at Northtowne Hyundai (a much better option for a dealer and service) for roughly $80 (including tax). I paid $20 to buy a meter to read vehicle codes and to reset them. It took me 15 minutes - yes folks you read it right - 15 minutes to replace the hose with a new part. And I spent another 15 minutes cleaning up the engine around the engine cover, etc. and to reset the code. The car is now working fine and there are no codes anymore. This dealership was going to charge me more than $500 an hour for labor (computed based on my time spent and it should have taken them less time because all their tools are right there in the bay). Total effort - 3 screws removed to remove engine cover. 3 clips removed from hose. Hose removal. New hose clamped on. 3 clips tightened. engine cover cleaned with soap and water. 3 screws tightened to replace engine cover. Less than 5 minutes to attach code reader and reset codes. No more check engine light. Money saved $320 from original estimate. $245 from second estimate. Owner of a new code reader. Never going to these guys for service again. I highly recommend you find someone honest to do business with. More
Shawnee Missoin Hyundai is the best dealership in the area. I have used this dealership for quite some time and I have always been satisfied with the service. I had occasion to come in due to mechanical issues and dealt with Nate Howe and he was able to get me in have always been satisfied with the service. I had occasion to come in due to mechanical issues and dealt with Nate Howe and he was able to get me in, without any appointment, resolve the issues that brought me into the dealer and in the course of solving those issues the service department identified another issue that needed to be dealt with. Everything was taken care of and I was back on the road later that day. I believe that Mr Howe and the individuals who serviced my car went above and beyond and that is rare anymore. Thank You !! More
