I bought a 4Runner in NJ in December 2019 (mostly because despite how great the sal This was not the first bad experience I've had here with service. I bought a 4Runner in NJ in December 2019 (mostly because despite how great the sales department is here, they just did not have a big inventory of used vehicles). I have already brought my car into this dealership for a few different services and have not had even one good experience here. I am used to oil changes at dealerships taking a while, and expected to be sitting there for +/- 2 hours, however one time I was there for 3 hours waiting for my car - for strictly an oil change. I had an appointment so it was not that they were doing me a favor by "squeezing me in" as a walk in. They checked my breaks another time, and got the noise I was hearing to stop initially. By the time I got back to my house the noise started again. I took it back up there for them to re-check and it was apparently nothing they could fix. The only saving grace was that they did not charge me for the second trip up there. The final straw was dropping my car off at 11:15am for the 80,000 mile maintenance, a NY State Inspection, and the recall maintenance that may or may not have needed to be done. I received a call that day at 2:45 pm stating that the mechanic had started the recall work, was taken off of working on my car, and simply could not finish it that day. This was a Saturday. They are closed on Sundays. Brianna asked if I would need a rental car (in a very annoyed tone), said they would pay for it (as if that would make it any less of an inconvenience that they are keeping my car for three days), and asked if I would be able to get there by 4:00pm because that's when they close. No offer to have the car brought to me to make up for the sever inconvenience. No explanation as to why a mechanic would start a job they could not finish, or why they would not pay the mechanic overtime to stay and actually finish a job that was started. Bad policy that they can allow a mechanic to start something they will not be able to finish. Have never had this happen at any other dealership or mechanic shop. When I went to pick up my rental car, the other young woman I worked with was acting as though they were doing me a huge favor by supplying me with a rental car since they could not return my own personal vehicle to me, and no one asked me if I needed to get anything out of my car - If I had not mentioned my EZ-Pass tag they would not have said a word and I would have ended up with a ticket. Poor communication all around and lack of empathy, kindness, and overall customer service. I left after having a conversation with Brianna about not being able to make it back to the dealership on Monday, and she said she would call me once my vehicle was done and I could work out the rental car return/my car pickup. I received a text message and no phone call once my car was done. I called, and had to ask how everything went - it was like pulling teeth to get any information. Even the hours they are there! Very sad that I cannot take my car here anymore - they have lost out on about 120,000 miles of maintenance from my vehicle because of this. Complete shame. More

difficult but service coordinator was very nice I have purchased and had my vehicles serviced by J. Toyota for some time. In fact I am hoping to $ a replacement truck soon. During covid 19, J's was problematic but genuinely nice and helpful as always. Phone system is spotty -thus communication was difficult. I did not mind the wait nor the difficulty- just shows that this co. is willing to work with their employees and customers to provide a safe and complete service. thank you More
