Service department takes care of you I have had 2 Ford cars serviced at John Kennedy Ford and I was overall impressed. My 2013 Fusion had several recalls all covered by Ford, free of cost. I was given a rental of my choice (Mazda was my selection, located next door) free of charge, gas not included. I had an issue after the inspection where the check engine light came in. The service department had to replace the engine cooling senors and cable, covered under Ford power train warranty, since I was over the 36000 bumper to bumper warranty at that point. The 2011 Mustang GT was brought in for an inspection. I paid around $100 for it. After the inspection, I noticed a small dent on the passenger side door that was not there before I dropped the car off. Accidents do happen. I talked with the service manager, who brought the car to John Kennedy collision shop, down the street from the dealer. I was offered another rental to use, once again a Mazda. The dent repair was finished in a day and also fixed, free of charge. Overall the service department treated me right. I have never purchased a car from this dealer, so I have no experience to speak of. More
Buyers Beware Having leased several vehicles with a firm understanding of how a lease is calculated, I was very disappointed in this dealership and their tactful in Having leased several vehicles with a firm understanding of how a lease is calculated, I was very disappointed in this dealership and their tactful inability to give me "the customer" a straight answer. A lease payment is comprised of 3 parts: principle, interest, and taxes. These guys couldn't break down the lease and actively worked to try and confuse me in order to charge a much higher rate than what they were quoting. The business manager even admitted that all he does is put the numbers in their program and they do not know how the payment is calculated. I'm baffled that this type of nefarious shifty sales tactics still exist in the now modern information rich market place. My experience qualifies for what I would call "deceptive" trade practices. On a more positive note, It doesn't appear to be systemic to FORD as I did contact two other dealers and my faith in customer service and transparent simple lease calculations was restored resulting in purchasing the exact same car for the actual interest rate and terms which I had calculated using a basic lease calculator... saving me thousands! Bottom line: Buyers Beware More
guess what you say you will do means nothing thought I had a car all wrapped up to buy last night. come today the car was sold right out the back door late last night after bank hrs. i sent all thought I had a car all wrapped up to buy last night. come today the car was sold right out the back door late last night after bank hrs. i sent all the necessay info to my bank today to make the loan and sign papers. only to wait half the day to just to find this out. no calls no hey by the way. just well we told you so. what that I needed a MASSIVE deposit. to hold a car. guess east coast shaddy dealers are not the same as dealers here in the midwest where your word and a hand shake still do business. thanks for wasting days and other leads that may have panned out. Awesome experience. We had a very specific car in mind and Scott found it at another dealership and got it for us for under what other dealerships were offering. No unexpected charges when we went to sign and Scott found it at another dealership and got it for us for under what other dealerships were offering. No unexpected charges when we went to sign the papers. It was an overall excellent experience. More
After talking rough numbers with a few lots, Fred gave me a starting point lower than the rest and seemed to avoid high-pressure tactics. After test driving the car, I found that the hood release on the car a starting point lower than the rest and seemed to avoid high-pressure tactics. After test driving the car, I found that the hood release on the car was broken (not a loose cable, the whole in-cabin assembly was broken. I informed Fred that I would prefer that the car be fixed before we had my fiancee's family come out, to which i was told "oh that's a five minute fix, I'll have them take care of it before you all get here tomorrow afternoon". We worked out when we would come in to finalize everything. Upon getting back there the next day, he had raised the price of the vehicle, raised the price of the Doc fee, lost a copy of both my fiancee and my driver's licenses, and NOT even mentioned that the latch was still broken. Kennedy also did not honor a $1,000 rebate or even mention it. Upon facing concerns from the fiancee's parents about the need for repair, as well as scratches appearing on the trade after their appraisal, I called Fred back to ask him to hold off running the banking information until certain things were taken care of. At this point Fred became VERY hostile, yelling at me on the phone, "politely" telling me off and then hanging up on me. I left very dissatisfied with their service, especially after hearing that multiple customers have had issues with Fred. He was more concerned talking about his pets and his four houses than paying attention to where he was putting paperwork, or making sure he wasn't trying to sell a broken product. I can NOT recommend this dealership with Fred still being there, sadly my experience was tainted by him. Your mileage with other sales professionals there may vary. More
