Respect of a phone call goes a long way We took our 2014 Ford explorer in for a checkup. I had scheduled the service appointment the week before. I told them I would like to pick up my vehi We took our 2014 Ford explorer in for a checkup. I had scheduled the service appointment the week before. I told them I would like to pick up my vehicle around 4pm. I had to call 3 times throughout the day to get a status update. My calls were forwarded to my customer service rep, no answer just voicemail. Finally after my third phone call, which it was now 5pm I told them not to forward me to the customer service rep because he wasnt answering my calls. To which i was finally told that he had left for the day. I told them I was on my way to pick up my vehicle and I wanted to make sure it was ready. The first response I received was 'there are a number of things wrong with it but we dont know what they are yet because your customer service person has left for the day'. The update came from the service manager and not service tech a short time later. He explained the problem and said parts were on the way. No loaner vehicles or rentals were available either due to a massive Ford recall. Which I found to be more their problem than mine. If they knew about the recall why not delay my appointment. So we were left without a vehicle for the evening (our warranty was supposed to cover a rental) No call from them on Tuesday for an update. Enterprise called asking if we needed a vehicle to which I said yes. Enterprise said they would not have a vehicle until Thursday. Wednesday, still no call from service center. My wife called and they assured her it would be done Thursday. There was a little bit of a fight with enterprise due to Ford taking a lot of their vehicles. Then we had warranty work so Fords policy is we could only drive a Ford rental. You can guess they were out of Fords, but we did end up with a vehicle. We were thoroughly frustrated with the service on our 4 year old vehicle under 60000 miles so we started looking at other vehicles. We bought a different vehicle on Friday. Ford neglected to call us until a week and a half later to tell us they were still waiting on parts. I told them not our problem we had sold it. To which they didn't seemed phased or upset. Through this whole ordeal I will never own a Ford because of it. If they had to haggle with the warranty company about a vehicle under 60k I am afraid what would happen at 80k. The service center was disorganized and overwhelmed. Phone calls would have been nice to at least let us know that they realized this was a disservice they had put on our family. No respect was shown to my wife or I. Not a lot of communication internally or externally. Night and day difference in that place from when we bought the vehicle new from them. More

The tech was friendly and efficient and got my car in right away. She took the time to inform me of the cost involved, which I appreciated. They were busy that day but got my car in and out within an hour! I will not hesitate in being a return customer to Fast Lane at Joe Machens. More
