Service department is awful, they take forever to even get to look at your vehicle then when you try to call for updates they either don't answer the phone or they hang up on you. Very unprofessional. Won get to look at your vehicle then when you try to call for updates they either don't answer the phone or they hang up on you. Very unprofessional. Won't provide a service vehicle or anything for inconvenience. More

Was informed that engine failure wa Had engine failure on my 2012 Kia Sportage on 10-9-19 had the vehicle towed to Jim Shorkey Kia Irwin on 10-10-19. Was informed that engine failure was covered under warranty/recall and the next day picked up loaner vehicle. A few days later was contacted by service department that my air intake needed to be replaced which I approved them to do. On 10-18-19, received message late in the afternoon that my vehicle was ready for pickup. Arrived at dealership and signed paperwork for the air intake cost ($283) along with the paperwork the dealership needed to be signed for them to be reimbursed by Kia for the engine replacement. Started the vehicle and was pulling out of the dealership but saw that 4-5 dashboard indicator lights were illuminated. Thankfully I never left the dealership property (and that there are security cameras everywhere these days) and immediately pulled the vehicle back into the service bay entrance lane. Had service manager come out to see this and he said since late in the day they would have to investigate why this occurred either Saturday or Monday. They gave me keys back to loaner vehicle and I left. Several days later, I was told by one of the service personnel that all of the indicator lights were on due to a failed wheel sensor. This was very confusing to me since not only was this not occurring before the engine failure, but also raised the question as to why they informed me the vehicle was ready for pickup when obviously they would have had to notice 4-5 indicator lights were illuminated when they took the vehicle for a test drive after an engine replacement (I would assume they would drive a vehicle for a couple miles at least especially after replacing the engine??). The service manager gave no explanation as to why the vehicle was ready for pickup one day and then I'm told it will cost me ~$300 to replace the wheel sensor. He even floated the theory that possibly the sensor coincidentally happened to fail while it was at the dealership. Realized I was not going to get anywhere with the dealership to resolve this puzzling turn of events so initiated case with Kia directly. After escalating the case as high as it could go, was informed by Kia that due to the mileage on the vehicle (291,000) that the sensor was not under warranty. They did not even take into account of the events that had taken place or my offer to provide all documentation that I keep regarding the upkeep of the vehicle as well as the fact that it had passed inspection every year I owned it. To add insult to injury, I later found out that any out of pocket towing expenses were covered by Kia under the warranty claim. When I emailed all three service personnel a copy of my towing receipt and asked about how to be reimbursed, they called and left a message stating that they didn't even know the vehicle had been towed there. I contacted the local towing company to inquire if they would ever just unload a towed vehicle at this dealership and just drive away. Obviously they said that would never happen and that they always would give the key to someone in the service department. Emailed the service personnel again asking them if they normally note if a vehicle is towed in and also if they ask customers who are having an engine replacement under the warranty/recall if they have incurred any out of pocket towing expenses. It even states on my vehicle work order that "customer may be having vehicle towed". Never received a response from any of the three. Food for thought I'll leave it up to you the reader to decide how to interpret what happened to me and whether you decide to have your vehicle serviced by them. More
Very easy to buy the car, very difficult to get any service Usually when I buy a car, I like to have it serviced at the dealership for the first few years. This dealership has botched recalls, replacement parts Usually when I buy a car, I like to have it serviced at the dealership for the first few years. This dealership has botched recalls, replacement parts, even little things like putting air in the tires. Practically every time I go there to get something “fixed,” I have to go back within the week for the same problem. I would not recommend them for any service whatsoever. Ryan just lies to my face regarding the air situation. More

Really ignorant people not one good thing about this place A friend of mine purchased a used vehicle from this place granted the vehicle was as is with no warranty. He paid $4000 or $5000 for the vehicle. H A friend of mine purchased a used vehicle from this place granted the vehicle was as is with no warranty. He paid $4000 or $5000 for the vehicle. He had the vehicle for about 30 days and the transmission went. And to replace the transmission is going to cost him more than he paid for the vehicle so he thought by Jim Shorkey being a pretty big dealership he would give them a call and see if they can lead him in the right direction or possibly maybe even help him out a little bit so he called and the service manager said absolutely not no questions asked and was extremely ignorant. Thank you More
