DO NOT PURCHASE KIA'S SERVICE PLAN IF YOU LIVE IN THE PITTSBURGH AREA. I purchased a Kia Soul ! in March of 2012 at Jim Shorkey Kia. I opted in for the service plan which I was told at the time of purc PITTSBURGH AREA. I purchased a Kia Soul ! in March of 2012 at Jim Shorkey Kia. I opted in for the service plan which I was told at the time of purchase I would be able to have oil changed at ANY Kia dealership throughout the Pittsburgh area. NOT TRUE! I was told by Baierl Kia they would accept it when I called; however, I was told they woulnd't when I showed up for service. I was told by Century III Kia they wouldn't accept the service plan when I called them. When I showed up, they told me "technically we don't accept the service plan coupons but to win you as a cusotmer we will accept them." I called JMA customer service, the company that pays the Kia dealerships when they perform the service if you opted in for the service plan. They informed me that all Kia dealerships are "supposed to" accept the coupons. When I tried to cancel my service plan, I was told I had to drive back to the originating dealer to cancel. I drove there only to be told I had to pay $50 to cancel. THIS HAS BEEN A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND NOBODY IS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OF IT. Not the dealer, not JMA, and I have to pay $50????? My experience here was absolutely amazing. I had been shopping around for a truck for well over a month. As soon as I walked in I could tell an immediate difference from all the other dealerships in the shopping around for a truck for well over a month. As soon as I walked in I could tell an immediate difference from all the other dealerships in the area. When I walked in around 8pm, the sales manager happen to be at the reception desk. Instead of doing what typical sales managers do and passing my inquiry off onto a salesman, he took the time to ask what it was I was looking for and immediately went to a list of trucks. He brought me into his office and had me watch a brief video on their lifetime warranty(yes, lifetime warranty on a USED vehicle) while he went to grab the salesman that works specifically with what I was looking for. Now this is where I was introduced to someone I never thought existed, a real-life, down-to-earth, NON-pushy, no-gimmicks-salesman, Mike. Mike answered all of my questions, concerns, and went above and beyond to help me out. There are no words to explain just how great Mike was throughout this whole process, but I would highly recommend anyone in the market to ask for Mike. The financing guy Jed was super helpful as well. He really went out of his way and worked hard to try and accommodate my needs to make the deal work out to my specifications. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. One thing that I will change in the future, I go to Jim Shorkey before I look anywhere else. Outstanding service! More
I wanted to like this dealership, but I just had a really bad experience. We drove 45 mins specifically to this dealership because my husband bought his car there a few yrs ago. The car dealer was very rude and got an attitude with us. He either didn't care or didn't know what he was doing. We test drove the car I wanted while they ran my credit. It was the perfectt car and it was a let down the car was 170 more a monthe h than I wanted to pay. Being a new stay at home mom, I can afford the same payment or less, I told him. He proceeded to tell me there was no other option for me (of course w an attitude). I stayed pleasant the whole time and told him Im ok with another vehicle, I don't have another particular car in mind, making it easy on him to just find a vehicle in my price range. He said he will see what else they have and get back to me. He didn't ask for my info, I had to give it to him, and surprise, surprise. It's been a week and havnt heard anything back from anyone at the dealership. So I'm taking my business elsewhere. More

He was not pushy in any way, he laid everything out for me, and did not sugarcoat things or try to pressure me to make a decision... I walked in with the intention of looking there.. then deciding...but Steve did such a great job with me... there was no way I was going to give my business to anyone else but him. I would recommend him and Jim Shorkey Kia in an instant. More

It has broken dow service? Jim Shorkey Kia are one of the worst when it comes to customer service. I bought a 2012 Kia Sorento in Sepember 2011. It has broken down 5 times with the same issue since. They SAY they'll pick up and drop off your car when it needs servicing, what the don't tell you is that they're 3 weeks behind on deliveries. Seriously!? The owner, Katie Shorky's motto is 'It is what it is'. I spoke to her, my wife spoke to her and....yep...it is what it is. You'll tell her your issues with pain and frustration in your voice and she'll give you the old 'it is what it is' like your deciding between Coke and Pepsi. Katie told my wife that they were test driving my car on the median of the road, on the shoulder of the road- hitting the rumble strips and also hitting pot holes to see if they could get my car to act up again. WHAT! I was beside myself. Wonder what they do to test out paint jobs? When I initially purchased the car I had to take it in for a computer update. I arrive for my scheduled appointment and they tell me they don't have the time to fit me in tonight. They told me that they would schedule to pickup and drop off my car the following week. They also told me that they would fill up my gas tank for my inconvenience. They picked up and dropped off the car alright, but my tank was bone dry. The GET GAS NOW light was on and the 'miles left' till empty was flashing. Gheese, thanks! I called and talked to the person that was to fill up my tank and him haw yippity dip dop....nothing. When your car breaks down the issue has to be approved by Kia before you get the green light on a rental car. Each of the 5 times my car broke down I was out of a car for at least 2 days, the last time it was over a holiday so it was 4 days without a car. I wouldn't buy from Jim Shorkey again even if they were offering 1/2 off cars. The frustration from their service is not worth it. More
A great dealership starting with Jon Brentzel our finance and salesman. He treat my wife and I with respect sat down explored what was in our budget. Jon mad the whole process a nice experience. We purchased our first Kia last week- 2012 Sportage EX in "Signal Red". Our salesman, Barry Kopko, was outstanding! Very friendly and down-to-earth. No high pressure sales. We test drove a few different vehicles before choosing ours. While the specific color was not available at the time, they secured it very quickly from another dealer. We are so pleased with our experience at Jim Shorkey Kia. We were introduced to the staff, met Jim Shorkey and the best part- warm cookies and hot chocolate that made the cold/wet day better!! We opted to have a keyless remote added to the vehicle and set the appointment. They will be coming to our home tomorrow to pick up the vehicle and will return it when the job has been completed. I can't say enough about their customer service! Should we need another vehicle, we would not hesitate to come back. We are still amazed at what a pleasant experience this has been. We would reccommend Barry and Jim Shorkey Kia to anyone in need of a new car. More
I will say buying my first Kia was a breeze thanks to Heather. She truly sold me on this car. She really did go above and beyond to help me.
