Asked for oil change and tire rotation. That's it !!! Normally I pay $83.71 after tax. This time I was charged $162.35 ??? They said it was the new price for oil change and tire rotation pkg. ??? They didn't say anything to me prior to doing the service about a price I crease. I can go to any quick lube type place and pay half of what they charged me with tire rotation included. They said they added engine oil treatment and installed ethanol fuel stabilizer??? Never asked for either . To me these add on prices and services are a DECEPTIVE PRACTICE, and dishonest. Waited 1 and 1/2 hours for this service to be completed, after scheduling an appointment. I will NOT go back to Jim Shorkey Kia for service. Just Not trustworthy !!! More
The following is my recent experience at Jim Shorkey Kia service department: After my car’s engine shut down 6 times, being stranded twice, 2 flatbed tows, 3 visits to the service department and 11 days service department: After my car’s engine shut down 6 times, being stranded twice, 2 flatbed tows, 3 visits to the service department and 11 days at the dealer I finally have my car back with an “I think we have it fixed”. Please be careful taking your car to Jim Shorkey Kia service department. My Kia Soul stalled intermittently. The first time in they said could not replicate the problem so they did nothing. The second time in I was told it was the crank sensor and should not have any more problems. Less than 36 hours later it stalled again and it had to be towed to the dealership again. I was told it was the start stop battery, not the main battery. When I asked questions the service advisor was not happy to help. I asked to speak to a tech that worked on my car and was told it was not possible, so I asked to speak to the service manager and was told he was not in his office, but another advisor said he called him and he was on the way. After speaking to the manager I found out that there is only 1 battery which sometimes is called a stop start battery because of the gas saving feature. The manager informed me that the crank sensor was replaced in the second visit because of the “clues” they had (what I told them was happening) not because of a diagnostic test. They have two different machines they hook up to your car for diagnostic testing and he admitted 1 of the machines was not working properly. On the third visit they replaced the battery after one of the machines indicated a bad cell. Both advisors on the last two visits said they were able to replicate the problem (the car died on them). I asked the manager if they ever got my car to replicate the problem and he said “no.” If you bring your car there, make sure you ask questions multiple times and do research to verify that the information you are given is correct. You might also want to get a second opinion before beginning work. I have my car back, but I’m scared to drive it. Jackie K. More
Well here we go again. Been trying to get an appointment for the 3rd time yaking my car back here. Last 3 weeks keep saying they have no loaners. We'll they sent me an email wanting to hear about my bad experience there and installed them and yes you guessed it. No response. I've already turned them in to the better business buearu and they want me to do an interview with the news.im tired of this crap. All I want is my car fixed and they would never see me again because I would never buy another car here. They saidnthey inspected it and drove it. It is a funny thing to me he didn't feel the tranmission slipping because I get in it and ever day within 5 mins it's jumping and hopping. And I'm fixing to put the 3rd quart of oil in it and haven't been driving it a month. I guess I'm going to have to get a lawyer. This is ridiculous. Stay away from this place. Rip off. More

I would never do business with Jim Shorkey Kia again! Their service department’s communication with customers is poor at best. I brought my 2013 Kia Soul because of noise in the engine. The service advisor told me that this was a “known” issue with the Kia engines and we needed to wait for the engine noise to get worse or the engine to stop all together and that all repairs would be cover under a warranty because of the known issue. Two months later the engine stopped, of course I was then told that my engine was not the same as the one on the recall and I would have to pay for the repairs myself. Working with Kia customer care we came up with an agreement to split the cost, still terrible service since Kia and Jim Shorkey Kia would not stand behind what their employees stated to a customer. I even tried calling the Executive Manager, left him a detailed voicemail and he never bothered to return my call. When repairs started I kept asking to see how long it would take and if I could get an ETA on when the repairs would be completed. My emails and text were never answered. You definitely cannot trust that Jim Shorkey will stand behind their products or their employees. This has been a terrible customer service experience and I will never be doing business with them again. More
