Not worthy of my trust. POSSIBLE class action suit. I bought a vehicle from this dealership in October of 2017. I made my transaction through the USAA Car Buying Service. The initial experience was sa I bought a vehicle from this dealership in October of 2017. I made my transaction through the USAA Car Buying Service. The initial experience was satisfactory, but soured after six weeks when this dealership contacted me to say they had made a math mistake when they calculated the cost of my out of state registration and I would have to pay them $197 before they could proceed with the paperwork to get my tags from the DMV. They also sent me a form to complete and sign asking for credit card information and permission to take funds from my account. This didn't seem fair to me so I didn't comply, but contacted USAA whose agent said it sounded irregular to her as well since they'd already accepted payment. A couple of days later, a manager from the dealership contacted me to inform me they would overnight my tags to me and drop the request for additional funds. He sounded as if he thought I was ignorant enough to believe he was doing me a favor by adhering to the terms of the original contract. If they couldn't process the paperwork for my tags, how did they already have them to overnight to me? It seems that they were holding my tags hostage to goad me into giving them extra money and sign a paper saying I agreed to the change. I couldn't drive the car without the tags and the temporary registration had already expired. This practice is certainly unethical, if not illegal, and smacks of extortion. I'm currently looking into whether or not there are grounds for a class action lawsuit. It's not about money, it's about principles. If this is a common practice, they may have tricked hundreds of people out of many thousands of dollars. More

He checked inventory at other Jim Ellis stores and found a recently acquired Prius -- 2 years newer and 40,000 fewer miles than mine. They had it checked, serviced, and ready for sale that day. I saw it, drove it, bought it, and drove away happy. More
