My experience at Jim Coleman Toyota was very good. I did not feel pressured in anyway. Godwin the sales associate was friendly and extremely helpful to work with as was Roy Morrisey the sales manager. I f not feel pressured in anyway. Godwin the sales associate was friendly and extremely helpful to work with as was Roy Morrisey the sales manager. I felt a high level of trust in negotiating. They were willing to give me what I wanted in my trade and I felt the pricing on the new Highlander was very fair. I would highly recommend Jim Coleman Toyota to my friends. More
Brian gave me all the time I needed to determine which model suited me. New customer, just moved here. Called and made an appt for a 15,000 mi check, had an email confirmation in minutes. They also sent an email reminder. Staff was friendly and courteous. Told me it would tak for a 15,000 mi check, had an email confirmation in minutes. They also sent an email reminder. Staff was friendly and courteous. Told me it would take 2-2.5 hours, called in 1.5 hrs, although I had to wait 10-15 minutes to pay and for my car to be brought around. Price was much steeper than my dealership in the midwest. My old dealer always washed my car, so was disappointed when it was not done here. Overall, I was pleased with the service. More
I recently bought a new 2011 Toyota Prius with my mother and worked with Brian. He was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful throughout the whole process. When we arrived at the dealership he spent over an ho and worked with Brian. He was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful throughout the whole process. When we arrived at the dealership he spent over an hour explaining the different features of the car to me and how to work and drive a hybrid. He even wrote up a short list of helpful tips on conserving gas. I was really thankful because I had never bought a new car before, let alone a Hybrid, and Brian made me feel very confident about adjusting to the new car. I would definitely recommend this dealer to anybody who is interested in buying a Toyota and highly recommend Brian as the go-to person for a Prius. More
Both Theo and Malcolm were very professional and friendly. As a single woman, in the past I have had some negative experiences with car dealers being somewhat patronizing and rude. I want you to know that I am very impressed with the high quality of service your company provided to me in my recent car purchases from your dealership. I sincerely appreciated Mr. Schmidt's responsiveness quality of service your company provided to me in my recent car purchases from your dealership. I sincerely appreciated Mr. Schmidt's responsiveness to me and the way he conducted the finance and sales transactions for me to aleviate any stress in the process for me. His knowledge, kindness and dedication to customer service needs to be applauded. I will recommend your company and specifically Mr. Schmidt to others because of my utmost satisfaction with his services. He maintained contact with me after the puchases with follow up emails to ensure that I was a satisfied customer. Now, that is what I call real Customer Service. Never in my life have I ever had such a smooth car purchase with NO pressure, NO Gimmicks, NO Fuss. In fact, it was solely because of Mr. Schmidt's professionalism, honesty and genuine personal business manner with me, that I did in fact purchase another two vehicles in the same weekend. Prices were great and overall experience was awesome. I will never purchase another vehicle other than at Jim Coleman Toyota because of Mr. Schmidt. Mr. Schmidt was friendly and I would give him and outstanding on overall experience with transactions. I very much look forward to doing business with Mr. Schmidt for years to come. I had a great experience. Not only was the staff friendly but I was in and out and got what I wanted as far as price and the car. It was a no pressure transaction and Peter was great. He answered friendly but I was in and out and got what I wanted as far as price and the car. It was a no pressure transaction and Peter was great. He answered all my questions I asked him and was very helpfull in helping my wife and I filling out the initial paperwork. Tim was also very friendly. He and the used car manager helped me workout a deal in my favor in order for me to get the car at the price and payments I wanted. I would definately recommend not only the staff but the dealership overall. Even the other salesmen and staff were very friendly and helpful. More
Such poor customer service that they just lost a lifelong customer. I bought my very first new car from Jim Coleman -- a 1997 Corolla. After buying my next few in California while I lived out west, I returned to DC about 3 years ago and found myself needing to buy a new Corolla in March 2010. I returned to Jim Coleman after comparing prices at all of the area dealers (out as far as Manassas and Baltimore). Peter Lee was the salesman who helped me. He gave me the usual salesman stories (e.g., how he himself wanted to buy the VERY car that I was buying but he was forced to hold off on his own purchase so as to allow me, the customer, to take priority (SURE, Peter), and how a little elderly lady who bought a car from him had let her battery go dead and called him in the middle of the night to tell him the new car didn't work, and he OF COURSE answered her call and helped her out of her jam, because he's that nice of a guy and because customer service is SO important to Jim Coleman). But, bullsh*t sales tactics notwithstanding, the price was good and the transaction was smooth, other than an error on the paperwork indicating my delivery date on the car was several weeks prior to the day I actually picked it up. I've spent literally the last 6 months trying to rectify this simple mistake (as it affects my warranty). It should be easy for them to handle. Peter, who used to immediately answer my calls and emails before he had the sale, has managed to ignore the vast majority of my inquiries now that he already got his commission from me. I even simply asked him to tell me who I *should* be communicating with (recognizing that he is not a customer service rep), but he failed to answer even that question or direct me to customer service -- instead he just ignored me. I contacted main Toyota headquarters' customer service after 4 months of being ignored by Peter, and they opened an official case and promised me that someone from Jim Coleman's customer service department would contact me within 3 business days. A month passed and (surprise!) no one had contacted me from Jim Coleman, so I wrote a formal letter addressed to Dale Kerns in the customer service department, asking for assistance, giving them the case number, and specifically saying I had been a loyal customer for 15 years (I even brought my car in for routine maintenace in Bethesda just to give them my business, despite living in Virginia), and asking simply for ANY communication from them even if there was nothing they could do to help me. It has now been a full month since I mailed that letter, and not a single word from Jim Coleman. I will never return to their dealership for another purchase, or for service, because they have such terrible customer service. If you do decide to buy a car from them, make absolutely sure that there are no issues that you will need to have taken care of later, because once they have your money they will drop you like a hot potato. Just bought a Camry from Theo at Jim Coleman Toyota. Couldn't have been an easier process. I had researched cars for a few months prior and the price I got from Theo was the best I had found anywhere. H Couldn't have been an easier process. I had researched cars for a few months prior and the price I got from Theo was the best I had found anywhere. He tracked my car down and got it to the dealership within 1 day. My total time once I had agreed to buy with Theo on the phone was just about 1 hour which was great since I needed to be in and out. Couldn't have gone smoother. Other team members I met were also very helpful. Highly recommend. More
