Drove to #Janesville Subaru from a few towns away to buy a truck advertised on their site for X amount. Test drove it and everything. I originally posted this review to google, and the domain owner took the review down. Today I visited Janesville Subaru. After walking around for 15 minutes, I was approached by Julie Zucaro. I was looking at a specific vehicle and started asking questions, of which, she had very little knowledge. After I practically walked her through the sale and specs of the vehicle I was interested and very educated in, since I had done my research. I have also wanted a model of this vehicle since I was 16. After providing her with a starting price that I was open to negotiating, and what I was looking for in compensation for my trade-in. She came back with some numbers. I was informed that I was unable to even test drive the car because, "WE ONLY LET SERIOUS BUYERS TEST DRIVE THIS VEHICLE". Which seemed very odd to me since I was offering a down payment and a trade-in of a quality 2011 vehicle. I then asked if she was open to any sort of negotiation and was turned down completely. When asking about the interest rates I was told "we do not discriminate on our interest rates". I proceeded to ask how my credit score would affect the rate and was told again "we do not discriminate on our interest rates". I asked her what she thought my credit score might be and how that would affect my rate, and she informed me that she had no way of knowing "because I am 23 years old". Which I found a little insulting since my credit score is in the mid-upper 700’s. If she would have asked I would’ve been more than happy to tell her this information. I did not know that age mattered in this specific interaction, but I guess it does to Janesville Subaru. After being insulted, I decided to walk away and proceeded to take my business elsewhere. After a short phone call with another dealership, I was able to find the same exact model that I had previously been looking for. I drove there, and was graciously allowed to test drive this vehicle, in which, I also decided to purchase on the spot due to their customer service. Julie, I appreciate your help today. However, I feel a little hurt by the way I was treated. I live in the area, and plan on being here for quite some time. With this being my first vehicle purchase, I was particularly looking to find a reliable dealership that I could continue to do business with as long as I am in the area. I am a little disappointed in Janesville Subaru since it is the closest Subaru dealership to me. I am now more than happy to drive the additional 25 minutes from my location based off the service I received elsewhere. More
They text me about that the showing for the vehicle was available on Friday. We confirmed the visit for Saturday. I text them 75 minutes prior to my arrival and they confirmed "yes we will see you then". A available on Friday. We confirmed the visit for Saturday. I text them 75 minutes prior to my arrival and they confirmed "yes we will see you then". Arrived and spent 10 min at the dealership to be told the vehicle was sold 20 min prior to my arrival. I drove 2 hr 48 min (one way). Had to drive back 2 hr 48 min back home. No return call while on was on the road it was sold. No one apologize about the issue. They even tried to sell me a different vehicle that I was not interested. I would not recommend. Avoid this dealership. More

I gave Janesville Subaru a 3 out of 5 for the following reasons: 1) As far as the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan I purchased from Janesville Subaru, I believe I got a good to fair deal based on what other dea reasons: 1) As far as the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan I purchased from Janesville Subaru, I believe I got a good to fair deal based on what other dealerships were asking. With that I am happy. 2) The car was presented to me very clean condition. I found no issued with it. 3) Tony, our salesman, was straight forward and did not pressure us at all. Two thumbs up to Tony. 3) Janesville Subaru lost 3 stars on my review because of the paperwork signing process. As with most dealerships, the signing process goes very quickly. They try to sell you several add-on services and build them into the loan. I verbally made it clear that I did not want any of these add-on services. Then they brought me into another room where I was video taped while signing everything. Still a $399 anti-theft policy still appeared in the loan paperwork. Since I signed the loan paperwork, I am legally obligated to pay for this add-on that I verbally made clear I did not want. I hope that this will help other buyers avoid the mistake I made. I can’t help but conclude that this add-on was purposely “snuck” into the loan. If I had read the paperwork more carefully and caught the add-on, I'd be quite happy now. John Fager does excellent work. He is engaging, respectful, and enjoyable. Over period of weeks, he located an end-of-model year vehicle consistent with our desires, coordinated timely installatio respectful, and enjoyable. Over period of weeks, he located an end-of-model year vehicle consistent with our desires, coordinated timely installation of a couple options on the day of sale, and explained features new to us in a manner that was expertly organized and knowledgeable. Our purchase coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic and we appreciated his (and that of other staff) attention to appropriate precautions. John was accompanied by a sales trainee who was attentive and unobtrusive, as well as fortunate to have the quality of John's mentoring. More
