Salesperson was easy to deal with, very friendly, went out of his way to help. Buying process was pretty smooth and quick - it was a cash sale. Staff is extremely courteous. Only problem/surprise was the $700 charge for "Sweeney coating," a protective sealant which is supposedly added to all their vehicles, and is NOT optional. It unexpectedly increased the sale price of the vehicle by 18%. I really liked the car, so I rolled with it, but after investing in usual used car repairs, I would have preferred to have spent that money on the bearings and brakes the car needed. It seems like this cost should be mentioned up front, before the agreement to buy and the paperwork is written up, or just rolled into the advertised sale price. I'm not sure I would go back or recommend this dealership for this reason alone. More
I tried to buy a new car through Jake Sweeney Chrysler Dodge Jeep and ended up wasting six hours of my time driving there and back. After negotiating a price online, I showed up at the dealership, and the "new" vehicle that ended up being a demo had over 5000 miles on it. It had been trashed by the owner and his kids and they didn't even take the time to clean it before I got there. Then I tried to make something of my time by pricing out a different "new" vehicle. The Sales guy(Marty), then brings me the price back at full MSRP, just after completely wasting my time on the original vehicle I had intended to purchase. What a joke. I purchased a vehicle today through a different dealer that treated me like I would expect to be treated. More
I had a great experience. Jim was very patient and helpful. Jim made the process of buying a new vehicle very comfortable. I am a single mom who has been taken advantage of in other circumstances with my car. I took my Nitro (which I also bought at Sweeney and love) in because it was leaking transmission fluid. They were prompt in letting me know what was wrong. They were upfront about the cost of the parts (my family checked out the costs for me to confirm) and the labor issues. I paid $387.23 to have a complete brake job. After the second visit , the brakes still have a grinding noise when the brake pedal is applied. My husband and I went to this dealership to look at a Jeep Liberty. We walked in and the receptionist was on her cell phone and ignored us for a few minutes before she asked if she could help us. I told her what we were there to look at and she turned and asked a gentleman to help up. This man looked up and responded with can't "didn't catch the gentleman's name" do it. He did end up showing us the car, but while sitting in it we discovered it wouldn't meet our needs in a new vehicle. We looked at the Grand Cherokee that was on the showroom floor and he said this vehicle should have the headroom that was needed. However, we couldn't adjust the seat, as the battery was disconnected, to see if this was true. He handed us his card and a booklet on the Grand Cherokee and sent us on our way. I looked at his card when we we got back to the house and this was the "Internet Sales Manager". Wow, I would think that a manager would be a little better at providing customer service. My husband called another Jeep dealer that we found online to ask the question regarding the head room in the vehicle. The salesman that he spoke to on Thursday evening went over and above to help us out and this was over the phone! I went to this dealer Friday afternoon and worked out the details on purchasing a new Jeep Grand Cherokee and we picked up my new car Saturday morning.
