My first time I had a problem with my used Equinox was when changing a flat for the spare I noticed the rubber sleeve on the end of the shock was worn. I googled how to replace this rubber sleeve and the when changing a flat for the spare I noticed the rubber sleeve on the end of the shock was worn. I googled how to replace this rubber sleeve and the cost of parts was under $50. When I got it to the dealership to replace the tire, I informed the service department about the worn sleeve. In a few minutes, I was handed an estimate in excess of $1000 for completely new shocks. I immediately called xxxxxxxx and called up the how-to repair videos I had viewed on youtube that had a half dozen videos showing how to do this repair yourself as well as being performed by professional mechanics. Faced with some facts, the repair was suddenly covered by warranty. To be honest, I no longer really trust the service department. It feels like an attempt to take advantage of me as a customer. If there wasn't a limited lifetime warranty on the engine and drive train I wouldn't be using them. I am not expecting any type of change from this service department as a result of this review, beyond a few sentences from the manager about "I am concerned about your review" I would love to be proven wrong. I hate having a poor relationship with a dealership that I must use to maintain my warranty. As it stands, the likelihood of me purchasing another vehicle from any Jake Sweeney is slim to none. More
This dealership is absolute trash. Thieves. Will never go back to this dump for anything. go back to this dump for anything. More
Upon being notified that my check engine light detected an emissions problem and paying $130 to be told it wasn't under warranty even though my 2017 Silverado has less than 50K miles on it, I was immediate an emissions problem and paying $130 to be told it wasn't under warranty even though my 2017 Silverado has less than 50K miles on it, I was immediately perturbed that I was still being charged this fee. As I voiced my irritation to Mike Adams, the service tech and being told by him how" I've worked on cars all my life" at least ten times, he informed me that he had heard enough. My voice never raised nor did I use bad language with any personal attack. At that point, I drove to front of dealership and voiced my complaints to a manager and the service manager. They have offered me a 30% discount on the repairs but no offer of refunding the inspection fee. I have purchased well over a 100K in vehicles with them and this even includes returning after they did not tighten the oil nut after an oil change on my Chrysler van 3 years ago and nearly blowing up the engine. I did get a free oil change out that, sarcastically. This experience proves to me that GM will not back their vehicles in any ordinate amount of time and that myself being a multi customer does not mean a hill of beans. I will take my business elsewhere. I can only advise others to be very careful with them and the GM warranties. I have learned a valuable lesson. More
The service department did an oil change and tire rotation which resulted in a much overfilled crankcase and extremely over-tightened lug nuts. Won't go into the full details of my polite attempts t rotation which resulted in a much overfilled crankcase and extremely over-tightened lug nuts. Won't go into the full details of my polite attempts to get an apology and assurance that they would make an effort to not let this happen to other people. Everyone in a mangerial capacity in the service department could care less about the time and expense I went to to get my oil back to a normal level and my lug nuts loosened. They are not competent and don't care. More
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Earlier this year I took my car in for a repair and I waited two days before I received a diagnostic report. They told me what it would take to repair along with other recommendation for a repair and I waited two days before I received a diagnostic report. They told me what it would take to repair along with other recommendations which were very expensive. I paid for the repairs and the car had the same problem. The workers in service were not friendly and didn't appear to be concern that my car was not fixed. They said I needed to pay again to do another diagnostic on it before they could try to resolve the problem. I took the car to another dealer who resolved my problem and charge less. The customer service at the other dealership was wonderful. I will NEVER recommend or come back to this company, More
I had bought a 2019 chevrolet malibu last year with only 5 miles on it. A year and two months later I had to have service on my car because I was driving down a hill and my brakes went out on me. So I calle 5 miles on it. A year and two months later I had to have service on my car because I was driving down a hill and my brakes went out on me. So I called jake sweney and told them and they had my car towed there. They give me a rental car and ld me my car was still warranty and they would it. So I was happy with that. The next day they called and told me my oil was sluggished and they asked me where I was getting oil changes and I told them they did my last oil change and before that i had 3 othere oil from my licensed mecanic and he has on private shop. I had to send documention that I was getting oil changes and I had to have my mecanic call up to jake sweeney verify documentation. They told me they was not going to honor my warranty because they didnt believe my mecanic wasn't using the right oil and he was using 5w-30 full sythentic. That is when I had call general motors and they to investigate the situation. I only had 17,571 miles on my car. I had have my towed somewhere else and get fixed. Then they told me my rar would be free and since they didn't honor the warranty i had to pay 200 dollars eventhough I had paper that they give me stating it be free rental. They said it wasn't because of the warranty. In my opinion I wouldn't another car from them and I would recommend anyone to get there car fixed from htem. It was a very stressful situation and I had to miss a couple days from work. Customer service horrible and ruse and nasty. They also told me that was my engine was bad and I would need another engine. How could i need a new engine if i only had 17,500 miles on my car. More

I had a7:30am oil change appt it’s now 9:10am and I’m appt. “it’s first come first serve”. Why have an online scheduler if your appt means nothing. Your follow up response makes me laugh...I hate to write bad reviews but you guys really shouldn't push through contracts on holiday weekend. Then you wouldn't make your customers do the work to find out wh bad reviews but you guys really shouldn't push through contracts on holiday weekend. Then you wouldn't make your customers do the work to find out who would finance them . It totally upset me, I was embarrassed by being yelled at by a finance guy who yelled at me. Then you write to say it should be a great experience..and to contact you..you wouldn't call back. You know the number and don't people deserve to have correct paperwork. When buying a new car... I was gonna refer my son..nope no more..don't trust your staff. What a shame. The only decent employee is Darrin Aden. More

The car was in the shop for 11 days and the warranty company was only authorizing 4 days for the work to be completed. On the 11th day I received a call from the service department stating my car fell off a lift. I went to look at it and took some pictures to show my husband. We ended up purchasing a vehicle from another dealership because Jake Sweeney's general manager told me they would give us an additional $1000.00 rebate and a discount on the warranty. He told me to take it or leave it. If we totaled it on the street we wouldn't even get that. We didn't total it, they did. The car was in great shape and just needed a couple things done which was warranty work. I have the loss of the vehicle due to Jake Sweeney and then they will only sell me a car if they are profiting from it. I was the only one taking the loss and I wasn't involved in the incident. This did not seem like a fair offer or a good way of doing business. More
