Sold me a vehicle that needed repair and then didn't take care of problem. Still waiting on a resolution. Here's the story: Bought a used Ford Escape Hybrid which seemed to work fine during test drive. Deale care of problem. Still waiting on a resolution. Here's the story: Bought a used Ford Escape Hybrid which seemed to work fine during test drive. Dealer assured me everything was in working order. Driver's manual was missing. Salesman promised to order one (after 3 requests and 3 months, still don't have it.) Service light comes on the first day I have vehicle. Call service department who says it's probably just gas cap. Gas mileage seems poor, but I don't have a manual to check anything. Service light goes on again. Bring in vehicle. Service manager says battery has been completely disconnected (!) and supposedly fixes problem. Gauges still don't seem to be registering hybrid battery and service light comes on again. Take it back in. Car needs part for battery to work -- part was obviously broken at time of sales. Service manager says sales manager hasn't decided if they're going to pay for the repair or not. My estimate sheet says $0. Wait several days for part because of Memorial Day holiday. Get call today, service manager wants me to pay half (amount not given) and I say no way. I paid full asking price for vehicle and it should have been in working order. If anything they should refund part of my money for the hassle they've caused me. Now I'm waiting to hear back from sales manager. More
Had my own financing. Picked out my car. Took it home. Two weeks later Alvarez called saying "good news! we got you financed". As I mentioned, I went into the dealership already approved for a loan from my bank. Alvarez tried to pull a fast one. She told me she had gotten me a lower payment that would be saving me $90 a month or $1080 per year. I thought she had gotten me a lower interest rate and I was almost happy until she explained that the loan would be for 5 years instead of the 4 I went in with. I told her that wasn't saving me anything, that with an extra year of financing it would actually cost me more over the course of the loan. This woman actually said, "Well, maybe your math is different from mine". I explained that if they chose not go to with my financing I would be returning the vehicle and I would go elsewhere. She finally relented and went with my bank, but not before she complained saying it would be costing them $600 to do things my way. Did I care? Turns out they didn't like my bank. My bank asked them too many questions, things like loan to value, etc. I should have known something was up when they wanted me to fill out an application and run my credit even when I had already been approved for a loan.
