The experience of buying a Range Rover in May 2025 from Jaguar Land Rover Cerritos was easily the worst buying experience I have experienced. On May 2, I made an appt with Carmen to test drive the specific Jaguar Land Rover Cerritos was easily the worst buying experience I have experienced. On May 2, I made an appt with Carmen to test drive the specific car I saw for sale. When I arrived, Carmen told me it was being "Smogged" and I could not drive it. So she led to me another car that was "exactly like it". I drove that, liked it and asked to see the actual car I wanted to purchase. It was on the rack in in the service garage, looked good had some scuffs which she said "don't worry" and assured me would be fixed. I went through finance and Carmen told me she would deliver on Tuesday. Tuesday became Wednesday, then they asked if they could deliver Friday as they wanted to "detail" the car. I relayed I needed the car now (we had already sold our other car). So Carmen again said "don't worry" and delivered the car on Wednesday. What I came home to was a Range Rover that had multiple dings, scratches, huge scuffs all over the bumpers, large ding in hood and a broken back hatch. Wholly unacceptable. This team was not needing to detail the car, they were actually needing to REPAIR the car. I called immediately and was told once again "don't worry" and to bring the car BACK to the dealer. So my husband took the car back on May 22 to get all of these items handled. They kept it for a week. When my husband went to go get it, the back hatch was still broken (hadn't even been touched), our front heavy duty rubber floor mats were missing and they handed us back our ignition fob that was now broken. The dealer told us that they did not break it and that they could sell us a new key at $700. And it gets better, the heavy duty rubber front floor mats that were missing, they accused us of not having them in the first place. Again, we were just aghast at the level of service, while still being told "don't worry" by Carmen. I finally started having some very serious conversations with Matt Mahjoob and started taking to an attorney at this point. The dealer finally got the hatch fixed (it is still not 100%, the scratches and dings look better but not perfect by any means). And they replaced they key they broke and put new mats in the front. As someone who leads a business of 400 people, I would be bankrupt if I treated our clients this way. We were simply stunned. This was a terrible experience. There are still things wrong with our car purchase but I have given up on trying to work with them. I have been asking for their multipoint inspection record for 2 months now, Matt does not respond to emails and Carmen takes weeks to respond to a text. Even called and emailed the GM there, zero reply. The dealer bought this pre-leased car at an auction in March 2025 and I don't think they did ANYTHING to it to prepare it for another sale. I will be taking this to Newport Beach Land Rover for a full inspection. They are trustworthy. Cerritos is not. More
We had our vehicle in there for a tire issue, we had purchased the tire insurance and brought it in the first time and they patched it. Weeks later the tire patch was not holding and frustration was starting to set in. I feel like we got this run around about the tire insurance approval that it would take days. We were ok with it because they gave a courtesy vehicle to drive but his time around that was not going to be the wasn't case. We would have to wait a week or so until they got approval from the insurance company for us to bring it in to fix. Who wants to invest in this type of vehicle and buys extra insurance for tires and the remedy is wait we'll get back to you in a week or so! I got off the phone saying " I'm glad I only leased" because after this lease I'm going look else where for my next vehicle!! If it wasn't Jorge calling me back offering solutions to represent (JLR) in a caring and understanding manor this really would've left a bad impression on me. Thanks Jorge for changing my mind and the excellent, professional service you provided. It shows that you care about your customers and your commitment on doing was is right! More
