From the moment I picked up the car I had so many issues and the service is department was horrible. Due to the poor treatment and lack of of appreciation of my being a loyal Volvo owner for 25+ years I had decided as soon as I could I would return my lease and purchased a different make of car. About a month before I was to turn my car in I had a small issue. I had no intention of giving Danvers Volvo any more business so I called Jaffarian Volvo . The Best Decision I made. I was seen that day. While waiting I took a walk around the show floor. I meet Jamie and told him that I had no intention of getting a new Volvo and the reason. He wasn’t pushy but we looked at the new cars. The service was amazing. A bout a week later I decided that I should revisit Jaffarain and called Jaime to make an appt. Jamie asked what I wanted and told me he would send me info on what was on the lot. With in a half hour I had all the info I needed. A few days later I got my new Volvo. Today I returned to Jaffarian Volvo for my 10,000 mile service. I called on Monday and was able to get an appt in two days. I cannot say enough good things about the service member Jonathan . He was so easy to deal with and he kept me updated on my service. I am thrilled I am still a Volvo owner and looking forward to a long relationship with Jaffarian Volvo. If you are looking for a Volvo I would highly recommend Jaffarian Volvo. More
Incompetence or shady business practices? In short, Jaffarian failed to meet the standard of care under TJ20803.20.0 to properly diagnose an issue under warranty. Rather than admitting the In short, Jaffarian failed to meet the standard of care under TJ20803.20.0 to properly diagnose an issue under warranty. Rather than admitting they made a mistake, they lied to me more than once and the GM dismissed my request for Good Will warranty with a sarcastic and arrogant response. Jan. 2023, car was brought to Jaffarian for vibration at highway speed. Car was under warranty. They blamed vibration on 1 “tire not compatible with car” (tires were brand new OEM Pirelli Scorpion and the problem existed before the tires were mounted); 2 three of four tires were mounted backward (true, but that is traction issue and does not cause vibration), and 3 one tire was warped (untrue, tires were brand new and the condition existed before the tires were replaced). When confronted, Jaffarian said “I don’t know what is the causing the vibration.” I was charged over $400. Feb 2023 - all four tires were replaced, rebalanced, and wheels aligned as a precaution. Vibration persisted. Apr 2023 - brought car to indy shop. Checked all parts including suspension, bearings, tie rods, boots, etc. Wheels aligned and balanced. Vibration persisted. May to Aug 2023 - continued to drive car as I needed it for work and was frustrated to spend money on issues that couldn’t be identified by a dealer. Jun 2023 - warranty expired. Sep 2023 - brought car to another indy shop to evaluate. Checked all parts including suspension, bearings, tie rods, boots, etc. Could not identify issue. Vibration persisted. He recommended another indy shop. Oct-Nov 2023 - brought car to indy shop. Mechanic said he didn't even have to look at the car and based on the history it was likely the drive shaft “which is a known issue with Volvos and is covered under warranty.” I found Technical Journal TJ 20803.20.0 from Mar 2019, identifying the process to evaluate vibrations at highway speeds. Determined process was not followed in Jan 2023 as they did not continue to evaluate after road force balance and made excuses instead. Brought car to Jaffarian and told them it was drive shaft based on TJ 20803.20.0. Jaffarian conducted diagnostic evaluation according to the TJ 20803.20.0 and confirmed the issue was the drive shaft. They refused to cover under the warranty even though the issue was identified under warranty in Jan 2023 and TJ 20803.20.0 was not followed. I requested coverage under a Good Will Warranty. The Service Manager, Jonathon, said he was not authorized to do that and would submit a ticket to Volvo N.A. and I should expect a response in 2 to 5 days. Ticket was never submitted and he never called back. I checked in two weeks later and he said he would reach out to Volvo. He did not. Jonathon lied about submitting a ticket and lied about not being able to authorize a Good Will Warranty. Volvo Service Manager Bulletin titled “New Volvo Goodwill Self Authorization Program”, dated Nov 16, 2022 authorizes dealerships to make their own decisions on Good Will warranties. Nov 2023 - reached out to GM Gavin Jaffarian hopeful that as GM he would have a more objective view than SM covering his tracks. Jaffarian’s response was “I wouldn't trust anyone who diagnoses with a crystal ball [referring to the indy shop that correctly diagnosed the issue].The vehicle never came back after the balance until 11 months later, sorry.” He dismissed my request for a Good Will warranty b/c an indy shop correctly diagnosing the problem without having to see the car (verified in October 2023 by Jaffarian service team) and his incompetent staff could not. Spent my own money to diagnose. Dec 2023 -reached out to Volvo NA myself and submitted a ticket. Within 3 days VNA told me they spoke with dealer and to set an appt. I did and when I called to confirm that it was covered under warranty, they said no. Waste of time. I apologize to woman that I lost it on at the end. I was friendly up until that point but it all boiled over. More
Personal was very friendly and helpful. Provided options. Thought I only needed 40k miles services but end up changing tires and doing break work. Purchasing the car was easier than usual. Repair work through the dealership is very costly though. I know they use 'genuine Toyota parts' but they are out of line. Repair work through the dealership is very costly though. I know they use 'genuine Toyota parts' but they are out of line. More
