Mr. McNeil, My name is Zed Shipley and I am the General Manager her at Stevenson Kia of Jacksonville. This is the first I have heard of this and I am extremely sorry you feel this way! I a mostly sorry because clearly there has definitely been some misunderstanding here as 99% of all dealerships in the market today are no longer offering Gap insurance. This was a blanket situation actually due to protect military personnel. The act and guidelines in which dealers are temporarily not offering Gap insurance is a choice the dealers are making in order to be 100% sure and not over state and or charge any man or woman of service to our country not boat any more than that in which is allowed by the protecting guidelines set forth by the highest level individuals in our military. The issue and totals have not been resolved at that level and passed down amounts the dealers, so what you have experienced in the automotive community lately with any dealer Whom is not Offering Gap insurance is one whom is not willing to risk over charging or being part of or included in the lawsuit or complaint that generated this problem. As for some refund for Gap? This is clearly misunderstanding as well. That is not to say it’s not 100% on our part that one of my employees has Mia informed you, but this would be the first case in which a customer understood that we would be giving a refund due to we no longer offer Gap. 4 months ago we didn’t offer Gap and if you were charged or purchased Gap somehow, then I will have The money mailed to the Lien holder No later than January the 3rd. In addition if you paid the vehicle off or traded it somewhere then we will need to fill out a cancellation form and get the Gap premium refunded that way. I am a little confused as to what you are trying to accomplish. Again 4 months ago we did not offer Guaranteed Asset Protection so just trying to figure out what I can do to assist you in this matter. I am so sorry that we have not been clear in explaining this. But assure you that it’s extremely important to me that you know that we are 1000% here for you after the sale. Your overall satisfaction is truly the priority. I want you to be aware also that 85% of the individuals at Stevenson Kia, especially at the manager level and up, are all proud Veterans ourselves. Taking advantage of a brother or sister on arms and or uniform is far from our objective sir, anyone for that matter. Having served 6 years and multiple combat tours myself, I want you to know if there is any place you can be assured you will be taken care of it is here at Stevenson Kia.
