Worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Talk about snake in the grass used car salesman. Agreed upon a price then raised it $1900 plus rip off dealer fees. DONT BUY HERE in the grass used car salesman. Agreed upon a price then raised it $1900 plus rip off dealer fees. DONT BUY HERE More

I tried unsuccessfully to purchase an $18,000 used car at the advertised price here. My wife and I have been interested in a particular used model and found one at Cocoa Kia. While it wasn’t the color we w the advertised price here. My wife and I have been interested in a particular used model and found one at Cocoa Kia. While it wasn’t the color we wanted, the vehicle otherwise met our criteria for mileage, features, etc. Upon reaching out to the dealer, I initially had a good conversation with the salesperson, Megan. After exchanging information, Megan was going to send me the “final numbers” with tax, registration, etc. as I will be stopping by to take delivery direct from the airport after an out-of-state trip. That’s about where all great expectations ended. My intentions were to place a deposit and complete most, if not all, of the paperwork prior to delivery. I had apparently incorrectly assumed conducting primarily an online purchase would be pretty straightforward after all of the covid virus stuff. At the end of the day I still had not received the purchase information or any instructions regarding making a deposit, etc. After calling back to the dealership, a second salesperson, Karona, assured me he would take care of everything. A short time later, I received an email with a blank deposit form. And, while the form did say “Cocoa Kia” there was no language whatsoever about if was refundable if the deal didn’t finalize, etc. The form asked for my credit card information, including the 3 digit security code. To make matters more worrisome, the salesperson intended for me to send the completed form to his PERSONAL email address. After calling this out I eventually got the dealership email and worked around the other security issues. A short time later, I received another email with the “final numbers”. As expected, this included sales tax, registration, etc. It also included almost $1500 in mystery charges: Processing, documents & government fees. After doing a little research on Florida law and looking over the advertisement again to make sure I didn’t miss anything (there was no mention of any additional fees), I asked for a corrected proposal. Karona responded with “We have many buyers that are willing to pay due to our internet pricing today. “ and refused to remove the additional fees. I then quoted the section from Florida law: “…(16)Advertise the price of a vehicle unless the vehicle is identified by year, make, model, and a commonly accepted trade, brand, or style name. The advertised price must include all fees or charges that the customer must pay, including freight or destination charge, dealer preparation charge, and charges for undercoating or rustproofing. State and local taxes, tags, registration fees, and title fees, unless otherwise required by local law or standard, need not be disclosed in the advertisement. When two or more dealers advertise jointly, with or without participation of the franchisor, the advertised price need not include fees and charges that are variable among the individual dealers cooperating in the advertisement, but the nature of all charges that are not included in the advertised price must be disclosed in the advertisement.” I also asked if Cocoa Kia somehow had a special exemption for Florida law but did not receive a response. Additionally, I had copied the General Manager, Tony Swain, but to date have received no response. The last response from the salesperson was “I understand you do not want to pay dealer fee and can understand. Unfortunately we can not remove the dealer fee.” There are too many good car dealers in Florida without succumbing to deceptive sales techniques. Adding on non-sense charges to inflate the purchase price is just unacceptable. I’ll buy our next car elsewhere. More

I went on a short trip and the next service light came I bought this car 3.5 weeks ago and the oil change sticker said the oil had just been changed. I went on a short trip and the next service light came on saying 800 mile to next service??????? I Calle the service department several times and no one picks up the phone so I left that question on Toms voicemail with a statement of a return call ASAP but 2 days later I receive a call from Jen wanting to schedule a service on my car???? WOW Some service (NOT). Then I call the general manager and what do you know the same voicemail that the service guy Tom had what a joke. In my opinion service after the sale is a NON factor. More
I bought a car sight unseen I had my heart set on a used yellow Kia Soul and couldn't find a good one in Illinois or close by. I did a nationwide search and found it at Smith Kia I had my heart set on a used yellow Kia Soul and couldn't find a good one in Illinois or close by. I did a nationwide search and found it at Smith Kia. I had no intention of flying/driving down to Florida nor had I ever bought a car without seeing it, test driving it etc. I was skeptical at first, especially given my recent experience with the Kia dealer in my area (but that's another story). This was my first used car and my first car purchase where I had not seen the car in person. I did my research and hired a third party to check out the car for me. Dan and his manager Ed were awesome in helping me through this, in what could have been a catastrophic event. I sent them my money and then it was anticipated that hurricane Dorian would hit Florida. Due to the hurricane, they could not ship the car because all of the cars had to be relocated inland. Needless to say, Dorian did not hit Florida and I got my beautiful car. Throughout the process, they both assured me that everything was going to be fine. Dan and Ed were great! I cannot recommend them enough - too bad all car salesmen are not like them. More
