Our team performed a thorough diagnosis and discovered a sticking EGR Valve, an emissions part that unfortunately isn't covered under the extended warranty and is in no way connected to your previous repair. Your vehicle has over 145,000 miles on it, and it is common to start experiencing normal wear and tear issues for a vehicle of its age and mileage. John, we are sorry to hear your concerns. We apologize if there was any miscommunication on why your participation is required for this part of the process. While you paid off your loan 'years ago', unfortunately, the title you supplied us was not 'clean'. It still had a lien on it and is not eligible to pass on to a future buyer. Most banks, including Nissan Financial, will not allow anyone but the owner to apply for the lien release documentation. They require the owner to call and request a lien release, showing the vehicle is paid off. While we wish we didn't have to include you in this, the state will not let us proceed without that lien release and, at this time, only you can provide it. We are still petitioning the bank on your behalf in hopes they will allow an exception and turn over the information to us instead. We continue to ask for your patience and understanding.
