Steve, First of all, we appreciate you choosing to do business here at Jack Schmitt Ford Lincoln and we also appreciate your candor and letting us know how we could have done better. I am very sorry to hear about what happened with the front bumper license plate bracket being installed on your vehicle despite your request that it not be. After reviewing the situation with my team, there was an effort made by both Mike and my New Car Manager Jason Lyons to communicate this with the service staff and porters that when this vehicle arrives they were not to install the front license bracket. Unfortunately, the one porter who was not present that day happened to be the one who checked in the vehicle when it arrived and did the one thing we did not want him to do. We contacted you right away once this had happened to make you aware. We offered you the only options we could: to get you a different car or that we would repair this one. Unfortunately at the substantially discounted price that we sold the vehicle to you, a new bumper cover was not an option here nor is it a necessary or reasonable request. We sell lots of Focus xxx, specialty Mustangs, etc. Many of these vehicles are shipped in from other dealerships with the brackets already installed. We have removed these for clients and have done this minor repair countless times in the past for the most particular clients and they have been pleased 100% of the time. It's a pretty common issue and not something we have not dealt with before though in the past it has always been us fixing one that was installed somewhere else vs. our own team installing it. We would be happy to perform this repair for you. I understand the frustration. We all understand. This is a major purchase and it should be right. Unfortunately it sounds like we won't have the opportunity to make it right for you. -Andy Carr, General Manager
