The dealership has always maintained my Honda, I had a 1996 with 240,000 miles on it. I started looking at the new Honda's and did not have time to shop, so I said if they could close the deal and give m 1996 with 240,000 miles on it. Jeremy got me a good price with no hassle and showed me the new Honda. They were able to do the deal that same Saturday. I have driven the car to Gainesville and it is great. In the Fall of 2012 I visited Jack Ellena Honda and was greeted by Matt Brookbank. I told him I was in the beginning stages of considering buying a new car and was interested in a Honda CRV. I had been doing research via the internet and liked the various features of the CRV. Matt showed me the features of the car and allowed me to take a test drive. I liked it very much but told Matt I was still "looking" around and was not ready to make a decision yet. I stressed I did not want to be inundated with phone calls. We agreed that it would be reasonable if Matt checked in with me once a week. He respected my wishes and one other time I stopped by to look at a car that had just come in with the features I wanted. To make a long story short, I eventually decided to purchase a Honda CRV, although one had to be ordered from a distant location. Matt was a great help throughout the whole process. Everyone knows the quality and reputation of a Honda, so I’d like to share my experience with the salesperson, Monty Lala and the Business Manager, Tom Cuny. Monty approached me after I’d looked at several Fits. He mentioned that the particular car I was looking at was a manual transmission, which is what I was looking for. He pointed out features without making me feel like I was getting a “sales pitch”. As I asked questions, they were answered completely, with additional follow up information. We took the car for a test drive. The Fit is a very fun little car – that doesn’t feel like a little car! When we returned, Monty began to work with me to make the payments fit into my budget. He did it! I was unprepared to actually purchase a car that day. I hadn’t brought my check book or the title to my old car which they took in trade. I went home to pick these up and returned to find the Fit newly washed with a full tank of gas. Monty introduced us to Tom Cuny, Business Manager. He was very friendly and helpful. He explained all the additional options that were available – all of which seemed very nice and reasonable. He walked me through all the paperwork, signing the title over from my old car, the financing, etc. He made the whole process understandable and painless. I would highly recommend Monty Lala if anyone is in the market for a car. He’s a very nice, knowledgeable person interested in meeting his customer’s needs. Tom Cuny made the financial process easy. I had a great experience at Jack Ellena Honda. Matt made sure that I was buying the right vehicle for me and not just buying a vehicle. I test drove three cars and he was very patient, explaining in detail sure that I was buying the right vehicle for me and not just buying a vehicle. I really had a no hassle buying experience. I met both of Matt's managers who were friendly and didn't treat me like I knew nothing about buying a vehicle. The vehicle I liked didn't have heated seats but this wasn't a problem for Matt or Jack Ellena Honda. I was able to order them and get them installed. If you want a good buying experience with no hassle, head to Jack Ellena Honda and ask to speak with Matt. You might want to take a burrito with you. He doesn't get to eat often as he is helping customers. I was there over the lunch and supper hour. I never did see him eat! More
My husband and I were extremely pleased with this dealership and all of the employees we dealt with. In our search for a new car we had visited several dealerships in the Lawrence area and Jack Elle dealership and all of the employees we dealt with. In our search for a new car we had visited several dealerships in the Lawrence area and Jack Ellena Honda was the best by far. When we started our search for a new car we had no idea what we would choose, we only knew that we wanted one comparable in size and quality to our 2002 Toyota Camry. We first narrowed it down to Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, and VW Passat. From there it was narrowed to the Altima and the Accord, either one we would have been happy with. Matt Brookbank was our main salesperson, but we also did one test-drive with Dave Blair, and both were very informed about the Accord, they were very courteous, we NEVER felt pressured (a big plus for us), and they were very willing to let us take all the time we needed to compare the cars they knew we were interested in. Since we spent the most time with Matt, we will focus our rating mostly on this young man. He was very enthusiastic about Honda in general. I don't recall anything he did not know. His knowledge of the Honda Accord was astounding, so much so, that my husband and I couldn't help but be smiling over his expertise. And there again, he was knowledgeable, courteous, and very desirous of selling us a car, but we never felt pressured and were made to feel comfortable when we told him we wanted to go back and test drive another car before we made a decision. We also spoke to Sam Avazpour, General Sales Manager and Tim Cooper, Sales Manager, and both were very convincing that we should decide on the Honda Accord. Like, Matt and Dave, they were both very friendly, extremely informed, able to answer any questions we had, and made us feel relaxed through our process of buying a car. My husband and I are retired, so we have had the experience of purchasing many cars over the years, and one thing that we do not like (and would actually make us walk out of a dealership) was feeling like we were pressured into making a hasty decision. That was never the case. When we discussed what we actually wanted to pay for the car and what we wanted for our trade-in, all of the people mentioned above went out of their way to satisfy our expectations and never once did we feel negative, angry, nervous or overwhelmed, like many our of prior experiences had been with other dealers in the past. Getting the paperwork done for the purchase was fast and easy! So overall, that dealership is run like a fine engine. Everything runs smoothly from start to finish with smiles along the way. And then to top it off EVERYONE gets a smile and a laugh by the purchaser hitting a gong. What could be better? Ha! A thank you to everyone at Honda. More
