I called Pat Gillespie at barkau's and told him of my situation. Pat gave me a car to use and got on the internet to find out he could get my vehicle transported back for around $800.00. We ended up trading off the avalanche on a jeep cherekee and Barkau's took on the responsibility of getting the avalanche back to Illinois. This took a lot of worry away from my wife and myself. Was real impressed with the service here, Pat Gillespie is one xxxx of a nice guy. I test drove the car and noticed their was a noise in the rear of it. Barkau & Sons which is gladly be serious about selling you a car. After 3 months of searching the internet for a Subaru Outback I happened upon J.H. Barkau & Sons which is about a three hour drive/ 170 miles away from my home. I was happy to read that they were a three generation business that was established in 1952. They understand the importance of working with online customers that are searching the world wide web for the best deals. Kevin the internet manager works out of Cedarville ILL and referred me to Pat who works in sales in Freeport ILL where the car was located. Pat told me upfront that they only keep the best vehicles on the lots and the rest go to auction because their best sales pitch is happy returning customers who come back and purchase more vehicles. While on his cell phone Pat walked around the car (and inside) describing all the blemishes on the car. I understand that a used vehicle are not perfect and Pat was upfront and didn't want me disappointed once I arrived to purchase the car. I found Pat and Kevin to be upfront, honest, and friendly. I am very happy with my experience with J.H. Barkau & Sons. J.H. Barkau & Sons are lucky to have Pat and Kevin as employees.
