Their description of a 1994 Buick Roadmaster Wagon was "NO ISSUES" *********************************************************************** I would understand that to mean that the main parts of the "NO ISSUES" *********************************************************************** I would understand that to mean that the main parts of the car were working. Boy, was I wrong ! This was a GROSS MISREPRESENTATION or Lie if you prefer. Pieces of the rusty frame actually fell off when the car was put on a lift. Yes ! That's right, they sold me a car that had very badly rusted rear subframe members, so rusty that pieces of the frame crumbled off like crackers ! The heater and defroster did not work. The car had totally bald tires, no spare and no jack. Should I have driven it back from PA to NC across Wilkes Barre mountain in a snowstorm ? Probably not. But by the Grace of God I made it to Maryland where the starter failed and I had to spend the night in a motel. $250 later and back on the road. So far I've spent around $5,000 on this car including completely overhauled new brake system, including calipers and drums, not just pads, shoes. Some of the brake components actually fell apart when being serviced. Transmission leaking and throwing hot ATF on the exhaust. Trans had to be removed and repaired. Blower fan inoperative, had to be replaced. AC Compressor is inoperative, requires around $1,200 overhaul. There is extensive rust on the car body, tailgate, door jambs, completely rusted through inner fenders. The original dual exhaust system had been badly repaired previously and was crumbly and rusty. $800 The administrative assistant was very nice and tried to be helpful but unaware of the "junk-yard" quality of this particular vehicle. She was told to pressure me to "give them positive feedback" on the premises before I had even begun to discover the defects of this car. They made several empty promises on the phone which were never kept. This is a wholesale operation that sells cars picked up super-cheap from dealers, cars that no reputable auto dealer would attempt to retail. LIVE AND LEARN. rayvictor2003@yahoo.com More

International Auto Exchange sold me a car (a Toyota 4Runner) that broke down one hour after driving it. It was towed to a repair shop that told me it was illegal in Pennsylvania for a dealership to 4Runner) that broke down one hour after driving it. It was towed to a repair shop that told me it was illegal in Pennsylvania for a dealership to sell me a car that was so unsafe to drive (the car was leaking gasoline among other problems that contradicted the eBay listing...described further down). The repair shop even told me NOT to make any repairs and consider suing the dealership. I'm sure International Auto Exchange, because of their very high eBay feedback rating, must sell decent cars to some customers. Unfortunately, I was not one of them. Their high eBay rating may be somewhat artificial - I actually left them positive feedback myself (while I was still in their shack of an office) because they told me that, if I did so right there, they would give me a good deal on a warranty. Unfortunately, their warranty does not cover any of the thousands of dollars of repairs needed because all of the problems were pre-existing prior to the sale. Note that the repair shop (where the car was towed) said International Auto Exchange had quite a reputation locally -- and it wasn't a good one. It's now a month and a half later and I've spent $700 on the car (post-sale) on towing, rental cars, etc... and the car still sits at their dealership (I had the car towed back there) while we "negotiate." I originally wanted them to give me a different car of equal value but they refused. Then I wanted them to make all the repairs necessary to make the car consistent with their eBay listing - but they want me to pay for the repairs. It takes them weeks at a time to make the next step. I'm thinking about bringing them into arbitration at this point. In case you're curious, here are the problems with the vehicle that contradicted the claims on the eBay posting: "The engine runs well, the transmission shifts fine." Truth: The car was unable to achieve the speed limit on the highway with the petal to the metal. "The steering, suspension...are all in good shape." Truth: The power steering lines had a leak and all the fluid had drained out. The "idler arm" (a part of the suspension that's necessary for steering) was, according to the repair shop, "falling off the car" (if it actually were to, you can no longer steer). "No Known Bodywork." Truth: The car did have bodywork - in particular, "plastic-bonded rear quarters." "No major issues." Truth: Did I mention the car was leaking gasoline? -- possibly because of a problem with the "sending unit" that could cost $700 to fix. To their credit, the sales staff were pretty friendly. I imagine they just accidentally bought a lemon at the car auction (where they get all their vehicles) and decided to lie to pawn it off on some nieve dupe like myself. I had originally asked to have the car inspected and they said it was against their policy - now I think I know why. More
