Kelsey, after reading your review we tried to contact you multilpe times via phone without success. However, with some persistence, we did finally talk and have been waiting on you since then to bring your car to the dealership to resolve the radio issue with your car. At this point, we find it necessary to post a public response to your review so that we can clear up some statements that are simply not accurate. Indy Auto Man strives for 100% transparency with our customers. We are sorry that you feel we did not live up to that standard. We have tried exceedingly hard to help you resolve any outstanding issues with your car however, to date, you have not returned to our dealership since your initial conversation regarding your concerns. After you contacted us to discuss your concerns a month after the purchase of your car, a manager met with both you and your father to discuss the specifics of your claims. In fact, during this meeting our manager called the mechanic with whom you took your vehicle for service and the mechanic explained on the phone that your timing chain had some slack in it and that is a common issue in the type of vehicle you purchased. He further stated that the timing chain was not in fact broken and was functioning fine right now. He suggested that if you were planning on keeping the car long term, you might want to consider replacing the timing chain within the next 6-12 months, but there was no imminent problem at the time. You also told us about a broken engine mount. An engine mount is simply a bolt and costs roughly $60-$85 to repair at most service centers. They can and do break on cars and it can occur at anytime especially if a car has hit a chuckhole that could jar the bolt. Filter replacements are also normal maintenance issues on cars and should be periodically changed in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. Indy Auto Man was not aware of any headlight issues with your car, and we were never contacted by you about this prior to you taking the car to a mechanic. We did in fact have a new CD player installed in your car before we listed it for sale, and we also had new brakes put on the car before listing it. We understand that service issues can arise at anytime and we are always happy to help customers with minor repairs such as bulb replacements or battery problems shortly after a sale should a problem arise whether they purchased an extended service agreement or not. We offer multiple opportunities to test drive our vehicles, and we encourage our customers to schedule a time to take a vehicle to an offsite mechanic for an inspection prior to purchase. We also have three (3) separate forms that are reviewed and signed by customers explaining both the availability of an extended service contract and what it means to purchase a car "AS-IS". You read and signed each of those forms and you declined to purchase any type of extended service agreement from an outside warranty company when you bought this car. An extended service agreement would in fact cover most future repairs with your car such as a timing chain that was NOT broken at the time of purchase. Timing chains can be expensive to repair and they do wear and break over time. The cost of replacing a timing chain is about equal to the cost of an after market service agreement. There is never a way to know for sure what repairs may arise as a vehicle ages, but it is always a good idea to purchase an extended service agreement to help minimize out of pocket expenses in the future. Please return our calls so that we can provide the CD replacement we discussed and finalize this repair.
