Disappointed and will not return. 1) A technician called my wife after we dropped our Dodge Grand Caravan and stated he would not pass state safety inspection until WINDSHIELD WIPERS were replaced. Funny, my wife after we dropped our Dodge Grand Caravan and stated he would not pass state safety inspection until WINDSHIELD WIPERS were replaced. Funny, they had worked great the week before on the way back from Washington, DC which was nothing but rain. She said to go ahead, which she shouldn't have. SO, for $30 they replaced the front wipers...AND for another $35 replaced the rear wiper. xxx, is it necessary for a rear wiper to work to pass safety inspection? Brought it to the Service Directors attention and he offered nothing. 2) Had a coupon for a $20 oil change and free tire rotation. Asked while they had the wheels off if they could balance them as well. Charged $40 for rotate and balance. Brought to directors attention their price board states rotate $20 and rotate/balance $40. He did give the difference but only after arguing briefly. My advice: take your hard earned money to a company that will appreciate your business and that will not take advantage of you. More
These guys insure your satisfaction without heavy sales pressure. We came in late one night and purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. They let us take the vehicle home and came to our house the next day to pressure. We came in late one night and purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. They let us take the vehicle home and came to our house the next day to pick it up and get it formally detailed for us. Left a vehicle for us to drive while they were gone and even filled up the gas tank. Good folks to deal with and they make buying a new vehicle a good experience. We also got a good deal on our trade-in and subsequent purchase. In all the years I've been buying new vehicles, most dealers aren't offering good trade values. The ones that do stand above the rest. I am CEO of a non-profit, adult developmentally/physically disabled, organization of group homes and adult daycare facilities. This is my second purchase of a conversion van (hand developmentally/physically disabled, organization of group homes and adult daycare facilities. This is my second purchase of a conversion van (handicap/wheelchair accessible) from Ilderton. The first purchase was made in July, 2010. Both vehicles were exactly what I wanted and were reasonably priced. My company auto repair shop owner advised me that Ilderton was considered one of the best conversion dealers in the country, as did my banker. What made the whole experience so good was that I didn't have to leave my office location to complete either deal. The conversion specialist, Eric Wilson, brought the vehicles to me. I was able to test drive, have my mechanic inspect the vehicles, and complete the necessary paperwork all at my location. Eric was extremely knowledgeable and it was great being able to buy the second vehicle from the same specialist with whom I had bought the first. I requested and have already received an estimate from Eric on the possibility of converting one of my company's E-350 vans should our requirements dictate More
Ilderton Dodge represents the worst of the worst in "customer service." About a week ago, my wife and I had the engine light come on in our 2001 Dodge Dakota. After bringing it to the local mechani "customer service." About a week ago, my wife and I had the engine light come on in our 2001 Dodge Dakota. After bringing it to the local mechanic we usually deal with, the mechanic told us that the computer was bad on the truck. He suggested that we take it to a dealership in that he would have to charge us $500 for the part after his markup. there would be additional ancillary charges and so we did as our mechanic suggested. He charged us $70.00 to perform the diagnostic. One hour later we were at the service department of Ilderton Dodge. I explained both the problem and the diagnosis. They insisted that they could not accept the diagnosis and would therefore have to charge us an additional $85.00 - again, one hour later. They did say that the amount, (85.00) would then be added into the total. Thinking (mistakenly as it happens), that that meant the amount would be deducted from the total, I agreed. No...what this means, as was explained to me at checkout, was that they would include the amount in the total bill. No kidding? Really? (sarcastically) I never would have guessed that it was traditional to add the amount being charged on the bill. Not surprisingly, they came back fifteen minutes later and indictated....ready for this? The computer was bad and would need to be replaced. The woman in the service department said that they would have to order the part, for 800.00! Having little choice, I agreed. She said that we would need to pay for "everything" before they could place the order. Again I agreed. She actually asked me on four separate occassions if it was alright to place the order. I had to agree each time. We paid a total of $1038. I was assured that the part would be in within 3 - 5 days. To be fair, the part did arrive on Tuesday. Of course I had no way of knowing this since they never called. Instead I called them today, Friday to ask. I asked when I might come in to have the part installed. The woman on the phone indicated that I could come in between 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. I showed up early and they took the truck in. An hour and a half later they came and said that it was ready to go. Oh, and it would be an additional $93.00 for labor! I explained that we had been unable to use the truck for the week because of their failure to let us know. Also, I was told that the initial amount covered, "everything." "Sorry" was all I got. These people represent the worst kind of "customer service." Not only will I never return but I am making it my personal mission to let anyone - ANYONE who I can find to know of their dismal customer service and bloated costs. More
