I have been going to Ideal Hyundai/Buick/GMC since 2010 as a Service Department customer. I appreciate their low-key approach and professional manner. For example, I've never seen them in the customer lo as a Service Department customer. I appreciate their low-key approach and professional manner. For example, I've never seen them in the customer lounge trying to hustle someone into purchasing additional services their car really doesn't need...never seen other customers raising xxxx about broken promises, screwed-up estimates, and/or incorrect invoice amounts. To me, it's worth paying an extra $5 or $10 for an oil change to have a Hyundai-certified technician put my car on a lift and completely check it out. While I was waiting for the windshield in my Subaru to be repaired at Classic Auto Glass, I strolled over to Ideal Hyundai to look at some of the new models - specifically, the Veloster, Elantra Coupe and Elantra GT. Several months earlier, I had promised my wife to consider replacing her 2010 Elantra (purchased at a different local Hyundai dealer) if we could keep her monthly payment more or less the same. I was immediately met on the lot by Pete Christensen, who helped me come up with a plan to surprise my wife and select a vehicle that she would both like and have about the same monthly payment. The plan was to get the old Elantra from her workplace, have it appraised and take the new car back and park it in the same spot. All of this had to be done within a 3 hour time window before she went on break. We settled on a 2013 Elantra Coupe and started the purchase process. Less than 2.5 hours later, I was taking my wife's new Elantra to her workplace. There was no dealership-xx - Pete and Angie performed their tasks in the same professional and low-key manner that I was accustomed to from John Michael and the guys back in Service. That's about as good as it gets for me. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another vehicle from Ideal. More
I called into the dealership looking for recommended service to be performed in a short period of time. Shawn answered the call and was very helpful, friendly, and proficient. He provided me with what the dealership was able to do, matched the competitors price, and provided me the service that I needed. The service department was very busy when I got there, however, they were able to focus on my needs. I was going to walk about a mile down the road to get bite to eat and Shawn even asked me if I wanted their shuttle driver to take me. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone no matter what they drive...I noticed other makes/models in service that werent even Hyundai's! This was my first time servicing my vehicle with this dealership and I would definitely bring it back in the future. I live about an hour away but plan on getting my car serviced when I am out that way. More
Ideal really does not seem to want business. We came in seriously looking for a new, fully loaded Hyundai as a comutter car. We had no trade and were paying cash. Ideal told us they could not deviate from the sticker price at all. We are professional people, driving a nice car, but they did not even take the time to remember our name when talking to us. We took a test drive, they let us sit for a long time waiting after the test drive. There was no hospitality or frienliness. Other dealers came up with rebates, etc. that they found applicable and said were from Hyundai directly. Seems strange that Ideal could not do this. Very poor experience both times we stopped there, once last Fall and this Spring. More
