First free oil change and tire rotation After purchasing a Honda Civic from this dealership back in January 2014 for my college age daughter, we were finally able to get the first "free” oil After purchasing a Honda Civic from this dealership back in January 2014 for my college age daughter, we were finally able to get the first "free” oil change and tire rotation at 5900 miles on Veterans' Day, November 11th. We called three times to try to schedule the service throughout the year to no avail, we had to wait until the service light came on, they were adamant. It finally did and I had an appointment for 9 AM on November 11th and told the appointment would take about 1 hour and 40 minutes. I arrived around 8:40 and did the typical drop off process. I waited in the waiting area and next thing you know after about 35 minutes my car was ready. At check out I was told I owed $149. I was a little shocked; the service rep started explaining, in detail, that they performed the 7500 mile service, which included doing something to the breaks. I did not realize that I agreed to the service because it was not explained to me and a price was not given to me prior because I would have called my husband to see if the service was actually needed. I paid and told my husband who was very upset because the service did not need to be done at 5900 miles. The bottom line is that they were adamant about the miles for the "free" oil change and tire rotation but not so adamant about the 7500 mile service. After discussing this with the service manager they refunded me $60 but I ended up paying $90 for something that was not needed or explained to me. My husband also checked the breaks and they had not been adjusted or cleaned and they did not top off all the fluids, which was supposed to be included. They did change the oil because there was oil spillage and the tires were rotated. More
Customer Service/Used car quality needs work I bought the 1999 Honda Accord in Dec. 1999 and it had around 6500 miles on it(assume a sales demo car). When I went to pick it up the cruise control I bought the 1999 Honda Accord in Dec. 1999 and it had around 6500 miles on it(assume a sales demo car). When I went to pick it up the cruise control was not working so I had to take it back to the dealer for repair(not a good sign for customer service or quality). Since that time I have spent over $10,458 for service at Dick Ide and most of the time I go in there I am made to feel like I'm imposing on them to spend money for repairs. I have taken the car for "express" oil changes and waited over 1 and 1/2 hours. I was told that oil changes were free for the life of the vehicle but received a bill most recently for the oil change, 5/28/2014. I was informed that the bill was going to be $170.00 and I interpreted it as total bill. According to Ide rep, it was for the replacement only of the left and right links. Oh well, so much for free oil changes and customer service understanding..... When the service rep quotes you a price I assume that is the total bill. I have been in the service business for over 22 years and have a sense for good customer service. I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere for a Honda car or service. I will be servicing my car in the future, elsewhere. Am disappointed in their customer service. If you are concerned about customer service go elsewhere....... Good luck. More
Always Great Service at Dick Ide I started my Dick Ide journey 3 years ago when I was looking for a reliable vehicle for my family and most importantly my children. I leased a 2011 Honda Odyssey minivan for myself. The salesman was very nice and the service was great. I truly loved my Odyssey, it was stylish, comfortable, reliable and most of all safe for my children to ride in. It was a beautiful vehicle. I was proud to be a Dick Ide customer, knowing that my license plate holder read "Dick Ide In Penfield" I was glad to support such a great name in vehicle sales. Most recently I have renewed my lease with a new 2014 Honda Pilot, and I was helped by salesman Joe Allbright. He was a great guy, and very nice to work with. He answered all my questions and was very helpful. He is someone I will recommend my friends and family to see if they are interested in buying or leasing a Honda. I enjoyed coming back to Dick Ide for my regular maintenance for my Honda Odyssey and regular oil changes. I also enjoy working with the service team at Dick Ide, I know with my new Honda Pilot I will be well taken care of by Dick Ide's service team. The service manager Mark Frey is always looking out making sure you have someone helping you. Linda and Russ are a great to work with as well. I enjoy bringing my vehicles in to be serviced because the staff really takes care of you, making you feel at home and they really care for your vehicle. Took my car to Ralph Honda and they "fixed" it but only for a week. Car stopped working at a very busy light and had to be towed. I bought and deal with Dick Ide so towed there. Linda was excep but only for a week. Car stopped working at a very busy light and had to be towed. I bought and deal with Dick Ide so towed there. Linda was exceptional. When a loaner car was available she went out of her way to come get me at work and take me to Dick Ide as I did not have a ride there. She also went out of her way to get me a very good price for the repair by calling the local rep. I am very happy with Dick Ide's service and Linda! More
I just leased a 2013 Honda Civic for my high school daughter. I picked it up in the evening of 1/2/14. The very next morning we went out to start it and the doors would not unlock. After numerous tries with all three keys we were able to open the front passenger door and start the car. After a few minutes we tried to get in to move the car so we could shovel our driveway. The doors auto locked because the driver's side was never unlocked. The car ran for close to an hour before I was able to open the doors, with the exception of the driver's door. I called the dealership and explained the situation and they told me to call roadside assistance. I stated that I had not even had the car for 12 hours yet. They said there was nothing that they could do because they did not own it anymore. Too make a long story short, the new car has been back to the dealership a total of three times, to include twice today (1/7/14). It is there now and we have a loaner with a half a tank of gas which my husband was told to make sure it is filled to the same level as when it was received, never mind my tank was full before the three trips to their dealership for an issue that should have been fixed if they did a proper pre-delivery inspection (PDI). I have had to miss work twice and my daughter was left stranded on 1/7/14 in the bitter cold and in a dark parking lot...not safe at all. UPDATE: I feel after going back and forth a couple of times with Mr. Ide and seeing that he really cares about his business, and how customers are treated, I would recommend this dealership for anyone looking for a Honda. I guess what happened to us was not the norm. I appreciate the way Mr. Ide went above and beyond to make right what happened. He filled our gas tank, washed the car and even offered to pay the first payment, which I graciously declined. Overall my experience could have been a lot better but in the end it was all good. More

It was mistakenly arranged for a time, that upon arrival, I learned is not typically scheduled. Instead of making me return...I live almost an hour away, Billy Thompson voluntarily stayed past his shift and installed the moldings. He did it with a smile and Linda treated me like a queen. I even explained, that it was ok and I'd return, that it wasn't a big deal. However, Linda said, "We treat you like family here at Dick Ide" and I truly felt like it. Thank you Billy and Linda. I really appreciate you going the extra mile for me so I didn't have to travel so many. More
