Sold a Car with Brake Problems My son bought a car from Irving. Found out two days later, after taking the car to my mechanic, that the rear brake system and parking brake were not My son bought a car from Irving. Found out two days later, after taking the car to my mechanic, that the rear brake system and parking brake were not working at all...completely unsafe. But to get license plates for the car, the dealer had to take the car to get a state safety inspection and one of the items checked in the inspection is the parking brake. So the dealer sold my son an unsafe car due to a improper safety inspection done by a third party (not the dealer). I worked through Rocky (our salesman) and Eli (the finance manager) to reach a fair settlement for the brake repair to make the car safe, which I am very happy about. I give them credit for doing the right thing, even when they could have refused because the car was sold "as is". More
