We understand the situation your family is going through. As a customer relations manager, you of all people should realize the importance of honesty and integrity when leaving or responding to reviews. It is therefore, our responsibility to correct some of the many untruths contained in your review. First off, as an ESSENTIAL business, we were able to be opened in May when these deals were consummated. We followed all of the required guidelines and continue to do so today. We were not only open, but we were putting ourselves at risk during the height of COVID while other dealerships did not. Your daughters' Nissan dealership for one, was NOT open during this time because New York City had different guidelines than Nassau County We came back to help people, such as your family, who needed to have their vehicles serviced or needed to change vehicles because of mileage issues during their leases. To that end, we did agree, as did your family to payoff $3500 on the Maxima account and $3200 on the Pathfinder account. These were the payments showing with NMAC as remaining for those leases. We agreed, and made those payments as is documented on those accounts. The deal we made was honored to the letter of the law. The billing that you received afterwards from NMAC is for payments that YOU KNOWINGLY deferred with Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. Those payments were able to be deferred because of COVID and, as Billy, the General Sales Manager explained to your family, the dealership would have had NO knowledge or warning that those payments were deferred. Your family, armed with that knowledge, did not share that information with our dealership at all. It was kept hidden from the people that were helping you the entire time. You were not forthright or transparent with us while we were setting up the new leases and paying the remaining payments that were disclosed. That bill from NMAC could have been figured into the leases if we were informed of it prior to figuring out the new leases. The fact that your family indicated they worked for a Nissan dealership gave them employee pricing on both of these vehicles. This is a set price from the manufacturer to which we are just facilitating the purchase. This could never be a situation where we would be able to absorb those unknown payments. They received special employee pricing as set forth by Nissan/Infiniti. The fact that they work at a Nissan dealership makes your review even more upsetting because they knew what they were doing with their deferred payments the entire time. Again, they knew they deferred the payments with NMAC and that those payments would be charged at the end of the lease. While we understand how upset your family is by this situation, we did try several times to discuss this situation with NMAC and Nissan/Infiniti to try and help you out. While we were unable to rectify them, everyone we spoke with in authority exclaimed that your family knew about the deferrals and that there was NO way our dealership could have known. We wish you only good things in the future and hope that you will come to understand how this situation occurred and how withholding information during an employee pricing purchase is not the correct way to negotiate. It is upsetting how this had to end up with you leaving us a bad review after praising us for "being open to help you" back in May.
