Hidden fees and poor business practice I recently relocated to the area and shortly after I arrived I noticed one of the belts on my vehicle was squeaking and a check engine light came on. I recently relocated to the area and shortly after I arrived I noticed one of the belts on my vehicle was squeaking and a check engine light came on. I normally don't take my vehicles to a dealership for repairs because they are typically higher in price, but being new to the area I thought I would suck it up and pay the slightly higher price to have the issue with the belt fixed. When I dropped the vehicle off I asked them to check the check engine light also. The service rep told me that I would be charged $90 for service if they found something and I did not get the work done there. If I had work done they would waive the fee. That is pretty standard so I had no issues with it. I left the vehicle and waited for them to call me with the price. When they called me they said I had a loose a/c belt and a bad oxygen sensor. They also said the water pump was leaking. They gave me a quote of $451 for the oxygen sensor, $23 to tighten the belt, and $382 to replace the water pump. Money is tight right now so I gave them the go ahead for the belt and the water pump. The total should have been roughly $405 plus tax. When I went back to pick the vehicle up I was given a bill for $550! I looked at the receipt and noticed they charged me $90 for the computer check and an additional $42 for misc fees. I spoke to my service rep, Felicia, and was told I was charged the $90 because I did not get the oxygen sensor fixed there. When I said I was told that if I had work done there they would waive the fee, she said that only applied to the oxygen sensor. I asked what about the other $405 worth of repairs I had done? She said it didn't count towards waiving that fee. I then asked about the $42 misc fee. I was told that is a shop labor fee that is applied to every vehicle that is serviced there. I said I already paid for labor in the other fees at which time she explained those labor fees were for the labor of doing the service and this fee is for the labor of using their shop for the techs to work in! I said hold on, you mean to tell me I have to pay labor for the actual work and a labor fee for your techs to use your own shop to do the repairs in? She then back tracked and said it was for shop materials and it is added to every bill. I asked why I wasn't told about it when you called me with the estimate nor was I told I would still be charged the $90. I was given an estimate of $23 for the belt, and $382 for the water pump, plus tax. Nothing else! She said she was sorry and then total silence. It didn't make a difference that I was mislead or they were wrong. This was the one and only time I will ever use this dealership for service. These are the same shady pricing and business practices that give decent mechanics a bad name. Do yourself a favor and get everything in writing before you okay any services here. I would recommend bringing your vehicle somewhere else. More
service dept sucks I brought my truck in for service , I had a 8:30 am appointment. Went to pick it up a 7 pm, after working all day , they hadn't finished it. It was s I brought my truck in for service , I had a 8:30 am appointment. Went to pick it up a 7 pm, after working all day , they hadn't finished it. It was still on the rack. I told them to just stop work on it, I was ready to go home. I noticed the paper work they left me said all service was complete. Somebody's getting paid for work there not completing. Never again will use them, and I talk to a bunch of everyday with my job. Shame on them. More
Jay Tull is wonderful I want to say that every time I have gone to I-95 Toyota for service on my vehicle, Jay has been one of the best people there. He is prompt, courteous I want to say that every time I have gone to I-95 Toyota for service on my vehicle, Jay has been one of the best people there. He is prompt, courteous, and has excellent customer service skills. He ensures that when I leave from having a service that I am well cared for and I appreciate that. There has been only one other time I went there and was treated well and that was when I wanted to purchase another vehicle, and Joni Boatright assisted me. I will say though, I thought I should have received more information concerning my lease purchase. When I retruned to speak with Joni and she was not in, one of the sales guys pulled my credit and lied and told me it was a soft inquiry when it was not. I was very displeased with him and because of that I have purchased my newest Toyota from a dealership on Jacksonville. One bad apple can truly spoil the whole bunch and this salesperson has certainly spoiled my taste for this dealership. Jay...you are the best, and if I need service I will return to you. Thanks I-95... More

My husband and I were in St. Simons over the holiday when we had car troubles. The car was not in any state to travel long distances, and because of the holiday schedule, our only option (between St. Simons and Savannah) was I-95 Toyota. The mechanics promptly told us their diagnosis, which didn't make sense considering recent service preformed on the vehicle by our long-time, trusted mechanic in north Georgia. After calling our trusted mechanic, he asked for us to have the mechanic at I-95 Toyota called him. When we asked the Toyota mechanic he told us that he had come in on his day off to service our vehicle (the service department was operating under regular hours, so this argument does not really hold water) and that he was too busy working on the vehicle. At that point we should have halted service. In my opinion, he admitted guilt right then. They knew that we were in a bind, with nowhere else to go, and they took advantage of our situation. I-95 "fixed" our Sequoia so that it was fit to drive, and we took it to our trusted mechanic as soon as we could get home. We had asked for them to give us all of the "old" parts they had replaced. Thank goodness. Our mechanic revealed that they had scammed us. They had replaced the real problem, a very minor repair, and never reported it on the invoice. Then, they proceeded to replace several other parts that were not in need of replacement and charged us for all of those. Unfortunately, there is not much recourse for us. It is a finger pointing game. That being said, I want to share with everyone even considering taking their car to I-95 Toyota our story. More
