When I think of a snake, I think of Freddie N at I5 motors I drive by I-5 motors almost daily, since I live nearby; I always notice the cars on the lot and the low prices advertised. When I finally decided I n I drive by I-5 motors almost daily, since I live nearby; I always notice the cars on the lot and the low prices advertised. When I finally decided I needed to trade in my nice Nissan Altima for something a bit more spacious, my boyfriend suggested I look at the website for I-5 motors, and even though I would normally only consider a certified used vehicle, I was curious to check out a Honda CR-V with very low mileage advertised at a fair price. The next morning, me and my boyfriend headed over to I-5 motors and inquiry about the vehicle. Freddie came to meet us as we walked through the lot and initially I was not even sure he was a salesman as he was walking around talking on his cellphone and did not acknowledged us for 10-15mins. Once he approached us and we asked questions, he seemed helpful and answered all our questions; the test drive went great and we quickly decided to purchase the vehicle. I could not believe buying a car was such a quick and painless experience this time around. The numbers worked out, and everything seemed great. Except, everything changed after the paperwork was signed. On our last test drive right before doing the paperwork, we noticed the passenger airbag light was on, and also the radio stopped working. As we walked outside we mentioned it to Freddie and he said he didn't know anything about Hondas. After pressing a bit the issue, he offered to have it looked at if we brought the car back on Monday since the guy was not in on the weekend - he also said he'd have it washed, and 8-9 gallons of gas added. On Monday, my boyfriend took the car in, and Freddie told him he could not take it in then but would call him before 11am, but he didn't. We called again around 2pm and hemsaid he would call back before 4pm, but again he didn't. Tuesday, we called again and again he said he'd called back later and didn't. We called him again later that day and finally he said the service center had time to look it over on Thursday. Thursday, we finally take the car in and double check with Freddie that we are getting the airbag issue looked at, the radio fixed, 8-9gallons of gas and the car cleaned. He agreed and we waited for a call to go back and pick up our car later. It took 4hrs and we received the call from Peter at the service center. The radio was not fixed or even looked at because it is an aftermarket radio, the airbag is faulty and requires 2-3 days at the Honda dealership to be fix under extended warranty. We called Freddie and asked why the radio wasn't fixed, and he said he only offered to have it looked at, he never said it would be fixed. "so you are not going to have it fixed?" We asked, to which he responded "no, because I did not make any money on it". WOW that's a way to demean your customer and make sure they never ever return to you. Once we picked up the car, the man who picked us up and drove us to the dealership told us we only had 5 gallons of gas put in; and the car was just ran through a gas station car wash. I'm amazed that someone who refers to himself as being "highly educated", the way Freddie Nolan did, would be so morally corrupt, and would choose to treat a customer in such a condescending way; and for such a small thing as getting a radio fixed. This goes to show, a used car salesman is always a dirty used car salesman no matter how "highly educated" he is. While I understand the vehicle is sold as-is, I also expect promises to be fulfilled and customer service to be a priority; clearly that is not the case at I-5motors. More
I wish I could give them 10 stars! Let’s face it, shopping for a vehicle can be a demoralizing experience. I have degrees in Finance & Accounting, a Masters in business, and I have spent 15 years in shopping for a vehicle can be a demoralizing experience. I have degrees in Finance & Accounting, a Masters in business, and I have spent 15 years in sales/marketing. I feel like I have every skill set one should need to avoid intimidation during the car buying process. Let’s just say out of 6 car purchases in the last 16 years I have only had ONE, yes ONE experience where I felt confident that I was getting the best product for the best price. That experience occurred at I-5 Motors working with Luke Wilson. I can’t tell you how many times I have driven by this lot in awe of the inventory – it looks like a new car lot full of shiny beautiful objects I could never afford. On the contrary – One day I decided to stroll in and just “take a look.” There she was…a 2007 Carrera S convertible, my dream car. I couldn’t believe the pricing…being an analytical minded person I did my typical research…pulling out my iPad and double checking all the pricing on the spot. I was floored! This wasn’t going to be a haggle for your life experience. While a drive by gave me the impression that the vehicle conditions were good…when I went inside I realized that these were some of the best used vehicles I had ever seen…I felt like I was sitting in a brand new car – not a single crack filled with dust, not a spot on the flooring or a scratch on the paint. I happened to be greeted by Luke, one of the owners. This is not a car salesman…this is a guy that LOVES cars. In fact…I am pretty sure he has an emotional attachment to every vehicle on that lot. After chatting about several of the other awesome rides on the lot – I found myself with the keys to my dream car in my hand. It was car nirvana – the right vehicle, from the right place, in an environment where I was not feeling like my dream was going to be smashed by a sleazy sales guy trying to take me to the cleaners. Luke is as clean as they come…and his passion for cars comes across in every product on his lot. Needless to say my Porsche and I are as happy as we can be…and I look forward to many more years of doing business with Luke and his team at I5 motors! More
