I brought my 2024 Hyundai Ioniq5 to Hyundai of Downtown LA (DTLA) for warranty service related to warning signals for the turn signal and lane change assist. What followed was one of the most frustrating a LA (DTLA) for warranty service related to warning signals for the turn signal and lane change assist. What followed was one of the most frustrating and unacceptable service experiences I’ve ever had with any dealership. From the outset, communication was poor. After an initial phone call from the service advisor, I never received any further updates. I had to rely on the Hyundai app to track whether my car was being worked on—and most of the time, it wasn’t. The vehicle sat untouched for days, and I only received an eventual update via email after more than 20 days. Even worse, the car was repeatedly left unlocked overnight while in the dealership’s care. I received multiple alerts from the Hyundai app indicating the vehicle was unsecured after hours, which is completely unacceptable for a new vehicle under warranty. When I picked up the car, it was returned to me dirty and visibly damaged. I immediately noticed multiple scratches and scuff marks that were not present when I dropped it off. A local body shop later confirmed signs of forced entry through the driver’s side door, including paint damage down to the metal. This occurred while the vehicle was in the dealership’s possession. The staff showed no concern and offered no accountability for the condition of the vehicle. I had to request a rental car days into the repair period, and no electric vehicle loaner—comparable to my EV—was ever offered. The dealership also made no effort to wash or return the car in presentable condition, even after holding it for nearly three weeks. On top of the poor service, the condition of the facility itself is subpar. Both the service and sales areas resemble an old used car lot—hardly what one expects from a modern, authorized Hyundai dealership. I am currently working with Hyundai corporate to seek resolution. I strongly caution other Hyundai owners—especially Ioniq5 drivers—before trusting their vehicle to this service department. More
Horrible customer service - don't waste your time. I'm not sure what the other reviews are saying but this place is completely slimy. Completely took me for a sucker and ripped me off all the way. No I'm not sure what the other reviews are saying but this place is completely slimy. Completely took me for a sucker and ripped me off all the way. No compassion, nothing. Car is riddled with problems just a few weeks after (faulty alternator, old oil etc.) Never dealt with such apathy or incompetence from working "professionals". More
BUYER BEWARE! Car dealers lie, it's not just a stereotype! I just spent 7 hours at this dealership. I spoke with a very very deceitful man name Terrence one Car dealers lie, it's not just a stereotype! I just spent 7 hours at this dealership. I spoke with a very very deceitful man name Terrence one of their sales managers. Trying to buy an ioniq 5. First they told me a price on the phone, twice. So I decided to go there. Then when he found out I was heading there, he called and said the price they gave me was a "mistake" and now it is $2500 more! i went there anyway, as I wanted to see how many Ioniq 5s they have on the lot because inventory showed 49, but he said its not correct they only have 13! so I went there, counted them and it was 28 on that lot, and they had about 20 on a second lot so the numbers didn't lie, but the Terrance did lie again. I told them who i am and been in touch with them and started, talking price, i walked out when he told me the stupid price even higher this time, but then as usual he send one of his workers to run after me. after a good hour under LA sun, finally we reached a deal. Then he said I can get u 1.9 %financing > . I was shocked because I know Hyundai only offers 5.5% with the rebate. I waited anohter couple hours to get back about financing approval. this is I believe where he committed some series crime. he came back with 2 rates, 9 and 10 % APR, saying my credit was not good enough, even though I had over 740 credit!!! I asked if this was from Hyundai finance which he lied again to and said yes, it is official rate from Hyandai finance. this was a lie again, because another colleuge later told me they never submited my info to coporate and gave me their "in house" rate. to which I asked why don't they give me the advertised rate, and they said then we can't give you the discount on the car. I was about to walk out when he offered a "option contract" whcih sounded like I have the option for 3 days to shop around. what he failed to mention was that it was not an option for me, but an option for dealer. He made me beleive that I can shop around for a good rate, if I don't find it, I return the car. but this was too good to be true, so I specifically asked them, can I not take the sale if I cant find a 72 hour period deal (by the way this is on a wednesday night, with a long weekend coming up) so almost no chance of finding a good rate in time. then he addmited that its an option for the dealer not me, and If I dont find a good rate im obligated to take the 10% APR. now I am no lawyer, but this is a scam at worst and predatory lending at best. So I will be filing a complaint soon to remove their credit inquiry on my credit. As I was walking out they threatened me not to tell others about what just happened, I posted a video of this on Google. More
