Approximately Dear Hyundai Customer Service, I want to lodge a complaint about my local Hyundai dealership, Hyundai of Cool Springs in Franklin, TN. Approximately 6 months ago I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T with 27,000 miles on it into the dealership for transmission problems, namely erratic shifting. Initially my advisor, Chris, told me they could not diagnose the issue despite me telling him I had read several online complaints about a sensor problem affecting the transmission. Over the next several months the vehicle was in and out of their facility on several occasions and still no fix. At one point Chris kept my vehicle for almost two months with no resolution and I finally asked for it back. About two weeks ago the transmission started shifting erratically again triggering a MIL. I was able to take the vehicle directly to the dealership so they could scan the MIL before turning the vehicle off as I had done initially. James was my service advisor this time and he told me he had seen this same issue before and believed it might be a transmission fluid temperature sensor. Finally someone with some insight after 6 months of frustration! The diagnostic scan did indeed reveal that the internal sensor that measures the transmission fluid temperature was going bad. The dealership fixed the issue but claimed it was not under warranty despite the car having only 27,000 miles and under 10 years in service date. I refused to pay for the repair because I felt the sensor was an internal part of the transmission and should be covered. A few days later James called to tell me the repair would be covered under warranty. Today I went to pick up the vehicle and before leaving noticed a 4 inch long creased dent on the right side of the hood as if a garage door had dropped on the hood. I was extremely upset as this car still looks brand new inside and out. My service advisor James agreed that the new damage was caused sometime during the repair period. He apologized but words can only go so far. James told me they would send the car to their body shop for repair. My wife had dropped me off at the dealership and I had no way home so I asked for a loaner car. James told me he didn’t have a loaner car for me. I had to ask to speak to the service manager, Tim, before they agreed to find me a car to drive home. After an hour of waiting I was given the cheapest, bare bones, and filthy Nissan Sentra to get home in. I really believe the employees at this dealership are incompetent and someone in upper level management or at Hyundai Corporate needs to be made aware of their incompetence. More

We just relocated to TN from PA and had a problem with our A/C that could not be resolved before we left. We contacted Cool Springs Hyundai and got an appointment the next day.
