Unfortunately, he aws not given the tools or authority to do his job well. Management at Hyundai of Escondido, and especially the corporate Hyundai office, were woefully unhelpful. Hyundai of Escondido held my car for 10 days while not completing any work to fix my engine. They refused to provide a loaner or rental car, despite holding my car for 10 days. 10 days my wife was without a car. I brought my car in with a problem obviously having to do with the engine. Bad noise, low power, and burning all the oil in only 1000 miles – a known, but unacknowledged problem with many of Hyundai’s cars. Hyundai Corporate refused to cover the 10k replacement of their defective engine (because they’re ignoring that it’s their fault for a bad design). I was quoted 2k to “inspect” the engine for the root cause before Corporate would even consider covering the expense. A reasonable ask. But Hyundai of Escondido refused to cover (or write off as they should have done) the inspection. I would be on the hook for 2k, with no guarantee of a root cause, a fix, or covered expenses. I was refused a refund of 167 I paid to diagnose the problem. No diagnosis was provided. I was told the problem was “somewhere inside the engine” and somehow that counted as a “diagnosis” Manager was on leave for at least 3 days (Fri-Sun) without a DOA or assistant manager to make decisions Service reps given zero authority to make the situation “right” I cannot recommend this location. And I am not confident in recommending Hyundai as a brand any longer More

The service was easy to schedule, and they were on schedule and very courteous. The wait area is really pleasant, and someone greeted us upon arrival. Great job! schedule and very courteous. The wait area is really pleasant, and someone greeted us upon arrival. Great job! More
Lorenzo and Eduardo were knowledgeable and efficient. Kept us informed of the status of our vehicle and didn’t waste time. Genuinely friendly and not just trying to make a sale. I was pleasantly greeted upon arrival for my service appointment. Jamay provided the detail concerning services to be performed and which maintenance agreement would be used for the transaction. Service was wonderful but they should of told me about waiting for 2 hours for an oil change. When on vacation time is very important and not knowing that made me a bit upset. waiting for 2 hours for an oil change. This review pertains only to the service dept. I had no interaction with the sales side. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO HYUNDAI ESCONDIDO FOR SERVICE! It took 3 weeks to have front struts and lower I had no interaction with the sales side. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO HYUNDAI ESCONDIDO FOR SERVICE! It took 3 weeks to have front struts and lower control arms replaced. The service tech Cody, put absolute minimum effort in. He has very little understanding of components of the car. He led me to believe multiple components that failed on the struts were separate and therefore would not be covered under my extended warranty. Not until I was able to have a conversation with the mechanic did I understand they would all be covered under the warranty. The mechanic, Ricardo, is the only reason why I gave a single star. He was wonderful taking the time to show me the strut itself and how it worked. I've also never seen an auto service desk where they don't cover for one another. Cody would be out a couple of days, without telling me he would be out, even though he knew I would likely be following up with him. He didn't tell me, "contact XYZ while I'm out, they will take care of you." So when I did call in and was informed he was out, I asked if someone else could assist. The answer was NO! Unbelievable! So, as anyone who is reading this would guess, I asked to speak to the service manager. It took me leaving 3 messages (she never picked up) over the course of two days for her to finally call me back. Even then she tried to convince me that everything was always covered under the warranty when in fact Cody was very clear that the adjuster had stated the control arms were not covered which would have cost $1,600 out of my pocket. I told him go ahead and order the parts and plan to repair the lower control arms and I would talk to the warranty company to get them covered and if I wasn't successful I would pay out of my pocket. Thankfully I got them to cover it. So of course Cody was out a couple of days, but I was very clear in telling him to order the parts. The service manager in her conversation said they still had to order the parts, so there again, we lose 3 days because Cody didn't order the parts! So this week, I of course have to contact Cody find out status of repair. He tells me Weds or Thursday. Thursday comes along I have to contact him, tells me car will be ready either that day but for sure Friday, but he still needed to contact the warranty company to get the labor for the control arms covered. Are you kidding me? He still hadn't worked that out? I text Cody again early Friday to let him know I will be in the area would could he confirm the when the car is ready. No reply. I go to the dealership. Of course Cody has the day off. I have nothing against people taking days off, but if you know a customer is going to be following up, let them know and have someone aware to assist. A gal there did help me, thankfully. Car still wasn't quite ready. I told her I would return my rental in the meantime. She was kind to say give us a call when you've dropped it off, and they will send a Lyft ride to pick me up and pay for it. So of course when I do this as had happened a few times previously and as "Alex" in her review mentioned with previous experience with this service dept, NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE! STAY AWAY FROM HYNDAI ESCONDIDO SERVICE! More
