AWFUL SERVICE Let me set the stage, I buy a decent car every 2-3 years and I've done this car shop/purchase many many times and these guys, well frankly they suck.. OK if you would like details, I went to look at car A the other day and was quite interested but car B grabbed my attention. I inquired about it and was pushed back toward my original car A. Well i decided to think on it, it was a big choice, and the next day I called and asked about looking at car B. I was then told that they 'don't drive showroom cars' (*which shouldn't be a shock as the older Rich/Rick salesman spent my test drive telling me how badly I was driving,... over and over... he kept harping on some fantastic class they went to and now he's an expert racing driver. Congrats... next time don't insult the person attempting TO GIVE YOU MONEY... anyway I ignored that nonsense as I saw a couple cars I might be into at the dealership. I called back and asked to see one of the B cars, they had 2, and I was told ... 'Why don't you give us a call when you make up your mind and are ready to buy something?' yes that's a quote from Rich/Rick,. and when I informed the mgr of his obviously errant behavior? well the mgr did say he'd get me another sales person to work with and apologized for the nonsense and he also clarified that they'd test drive anything they owned. Ok good enough eh? nope.... then i get a voicemail from the first salesman in this awful time stating how his mgr told him to invite me back out. Seriously? You insult my driving, insult the fact I want to shop around before dropping $50k, and then you have the nerve to put the same jerk on my account? Needless to say i didn't buy there, and gladly... I bought one at VIP Auto sales in Manassas, great friendly folks AND I was in and out in under twenty minutes... honest, there's no BS there ... as opposed to here.... and a note to the MGR and Rich/Rick ... " when somebody wants to look around at cars, LET THEM, that's how a person determines the pros and cons of each and then can make a decision. Do NOT insult or belittle your customers, it's just rude... I drove the e class conv and then asked about the SL550, remember? yea I bought a black one with a very similar spec... could have been your red and tan one i have now.... I'll be sure to tell everyone I meet that askes about the car where NOT to go car shopping... at Hyman where the customer is an annoyance... More
Happy customer! Looked all over for a Corvette and decided that I would visit two places. One dealership was in N.C. and Hyman Bros in Richmond. On my way to N.C. I Looked all over for a Corvette and decided that I would visit two places. One dealership was in N.C. and Hyman Bros in Richmond. On my way to N.C. I decided to stop by Hyman just for kicks and met a salesman named QC (actual name is difficult to pronounce, let alone spell) who welcomed me and accommodated me on a test drive. No pressure to sell, he knew the car inside and out and his conversation was cordial. Needless to say, I drove away with 50K plus vehicle in less time than it took to test drive it. Thanks QC. I highly recommend Hyman Bros, they have some really nice vehicles. Referrals headed your way Hyman. Thanks again! More

He walked us through trying to buy a vehicle that was bought up fast in our area. We were coming from Maryland (with our two little kids) and it was going to take over 2 hours to get to this dealership, but thankfully, Phillip put a courtesy "hold" on the vehicle so that it couldn't be bought out before we arrived. Thank goodness! It was a long trip, especially with a 2 year old and a 6 month old, but they were very kind, offered us all water, and enjoyed watching the oldest run around and stretch his legs. The paperwork was done up fast and we were done buying the vehicle within an hour. Thank you again! Great staff! Would definitely recommend. More

Phillip Acree was awesome -- he really knew a lot about the car, and there was no high pressure at all. And "the price was the price" -- which was SO reasonable. Financing was super-streamlined. I ended up with a great rate and a car I never thought I could afford. Overall, GREAT experience. More

Phillip took his time explaining the features of the car I had called about. He made sure that my test drive was a good experience by not pressuring me. It took me about 3 hours after the test drive to decide that this was the car I wanted. Once again, Hyman Bros. has the best previously owned cars in the Richmond market. I'll be back. More

I would definitely buy another car from Hyman Brothers I rated Hyman Brothers with 5 stars. My sales rep was Phillip Acree and he did everything that I asked him to do. If buying a car from them I recomme I rated Hyman Brothers with 5 stars. My sales rep was Phillip Acree and he did everything that I asked him to do. If buying a car from them I recommend talking to Phillip. The vehicle that I purchased looked flawless. There were a few minor things that I wanted fixed and Phillip took care of them for me right away. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. More
Knowledge and Service - YES! I recently purchased a Buick Enclave from Rick Bradley. He had the car I was interested in pulled up and freshly washed when I arrived. I've been researching the Enclave for years, and still he taught me dozens of things about the vehicle. I also liked that our test drive wasn't just a trip around the block. Rick took me on the interstate and on back roads to demonstrate how the car drives in different situations. He explained the engine, transmission, and magnetic drive. There's nothing he doesn't know about Buick! Plus, he is a really nice guy who isn't all "salesman" with slick comebacks. He is a straight shooter and I really enjoyed working with him. The finance manager was also really easy to work with, as was GQ. I had a really nice experience at this dealership and would go back again to purchase another car. More
Deceptive Practices - Single Women be Aware I purchased my mini cooper from Hyman Brothers located at 8066 W. Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia, 23294, in August 2015. The most important ite I purchased my mini cooper from Hyman Brothers located at 8066 W. Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia, 23294, in August 2015. The most important item that convinced me to purchase the mini cooper from Hyman Brothers was that I would be provided with a loaner car when the mini cooper went in for regular routine service and maintenance so that I would have a stress free way to get home and return back to Hyman Brothers. I was promised that this would happen for the duration of my ownership of the mini cooper. As a single “senior citizen” female, the loaner car was the key factor in me purchasing the mini cooper, without in I would have NEVER purchased the mini cooper from Hyman Brothers. Throughout the test drive and the purchase process, I was continually reminded that I should bring the mini cooper back to Hyman Brothers for regular routine service and maintenance as Hyman Brothers was better trained and cheaper than the Mini Cooper Dealership. I felt secure when I purchased the mini cooper because I could bring it back to Hyman Brothers for all regular routine service and maintenance. When I made my last appointment with Hyman Brothers on Sept. 2016, to have the oil changed on my mini cooper, I informed the service department that there were also a couple additional items that needed looked at and repaired. Around 10,000 miles the passenger seat belt stopped re-tracking. Imagine my shock when I was informed that I had to take my mini cooper to the Mini Cooper Dealership to have these items looked at and repaired. I was also informed that most of the maintenance on the mini cooper needed to be performed at the Mini Cooper Dealership. Again, I was told at the time I purchased the mini cooper that I could have all regular routine service and maintenance done at Hyman Brothers. I later learned that it also seems that even oil changes are an issue. The last oil change on my mini cooper took over an hour because the service technician could not figure out how to turn off the “change oil light”. I would have NEVER purchased my mini cooper from Hyman Brothers if I knew my mini cooper had to be serviced and the maintenance had to be performed by the Mini Cooper Dealership. I feel like the salesperson had this single “senior citizen” female for lunch when he promised me a loaner car for the lifetime of my ownership of the mini cooper that I purchased from Hyman Brothers. For these reasons, I feel like I was taken advantage of as a single female and a “senior citizen” at that. Also, I feel like I was a victim of false and deceptive advertising.
