Be careful, the sales team can be dishonest. I came in to lease a 23 XC60 Recharge, wanting a specific trim and spec. It needed time to be built, so they came up with a scheme where I lease a similarly specced (but worse) 22 model while I wait for mine to be built. They showed me lease terms for each car (the temporary 22, and the eventual 23), and I was happy with the price. I drove off the lot with the 22 satisfied but excited to get my properly specced car. When it was ready a few months later, they excitedly called me in to pick it up, and then handed me lease terms with a monthly payment 35% higher than what they had showed me previously, and with a down payment $6k higher to boot. They played it off like it was just changing market conditions, acting surprised that I wasn't excited to pick up my car for this new ridiculous price. It then occurred to me that there was no possible way this trade-in was ever going to go as planned, and they were being deceptive with the original lease terms they showed me. They were in a win-win scenario; either I overpay for a 23, or I keep the 22 and they now have a brand new 23 on the lot. I wish I had seen it coming, lesson learned. The staff are friendly and the facility is nice, but be on your toes with the salespeople. More
I worked at Hunter for several years some years ago. Gala Rice, Jennifer Brown at the front desk (and of course Tom and Randy) are still there, and absolutely wonderful people. If I was going to buy a vehicle in WNC I wouldn't go anywhere else, and you can't go wrong with a Volvo. Gala is decades deep in the car business and a consumate professional in all areas, and the Hunters care about their customers and their community. They're a WNC institution for a reason. We bought our first Volvo at Hunter Volvo in the beginning of January, 2022. We were so satisfied with the Customer Service provided at this dealership that we ended up buying our car at the first beginning of January, 2022. Our Sales Consultant, Sparrow Branks is attentive, knowledgeable, professional and corteous.. More than a month later, we went back and asked for her assistance and she gave us her time, attention and found solution for our questions. Way to go Sparrow! More

I had many mechanical issues with my previous lease. Rey, Sales, had been patient and kind during ongoing headaches; turns out the Service department was doing a good job but the car had issues. Stefan K, Sa Sales, had been patient and kind during ongoing headaches; turns out the Service department was doing a good job but the car had issues. Upon arrival at Hunter Volvo's awesome new dealership, we were immediately greeted by Steve and our salesman Alex. Although it was a busy afternoon, both of these gentlemen worked diligently to find the right fit for my wife. To say that we are thrilled about our new S60 is an understatement (they are too sweet)! One difference that made this visit different than any I’ve ever had, was that I left with my salesman Alex’s card, and am already looking forward to bringing him business. I believe that Alex, Steve, and Stefan (the business manager) worked together seamlessly as a team that put integrity first. I’m thankful our community has Hunter Volvo and its staff. More

Absolutely ridiculous customer service in the service department. On two separate occasions they have canceled repair appointments, after we have already arrived and waited for over an hour, because the department. Hector, the manager, kindly reached out to help us resolve this but zero follow through has occurred and two weeks later, we still have a broken car and I am trying to chase down someone in the service department--again. I will NEVER buy a car from this dealership which is unfortunate as their sales team is lovely but simply cannot handle my time being wasted by their service team. Go someplace else to buy or fix your Volvo!! Do not waste your time! More

From the minute I walked in the door I felt as if I was being accosted. There is a wall of men who stand behind a counter and act as if they run the NYC Stock exchange. I felt as if I was in the movie the “Boiler Room” and I was their prey! While going through the process of looking at a new Volvo I felt that this clearly isn’t the experience a Luxury car buyer expects or deserves. While shopping at the dealership I witnessed a sales meeting held on the showroom floor and was able to hear their sales tactics for the day. This is completely unprofessional. I further, heard a saleswoman tell a gentleman who had just purchased a new car that he couldn’t make an appointment to just sign his papers and leave. Her comment was”. “The finance manager is very busy and we can only give you an appropriate time. You simply can’t walk in sign and leave”. This is 2020! YES YOU CAN! The New Volvo I was looking at had an issue with the headlights. When I ask for it to be fixed before purchasing I was told No! “ It could only be fixed after the car was registered to me”. I was in shock and that was the final nail. I ended up purchasing my new Volvo at another dealership 100 miles away from Asheville. In the end I would give this dealership A zero if I could. Their television commercials tout the hometown feeling....that isn’t what I experienced. More
