Review upgraded due to great customer care I had concerns about the experience of buying and then not getting satisfaction in a timely manner for the things promised by saleswoman Cheyenne. Then I spoke to General Manager Gary, I met with him, and learned some stuff about this dealership and the employees. Gary recently took over the Gen Mgr position. Cheyenne is new to car sales. Even though it was a hassle for a moment, Gary took time to hear me but he also stood up for his employee Cheyenne, while dealing with her in private, a classy move in my opinion. Gary listened to my concerns, heard both sides of the issue and this morning he made things right with me. I took time to review the experience with him and told him I would only give a 4-star review, however, that changed after I left the dealership and thought about it. Gary is truly concerned about turning around the negative comments and making sure the West Side has a Mazda dealership with Integrity. He listened to me and my past experiences buying vehicles and how I won't go to a dealership with sleazy practices, which is how I had viewed this situation PRIOR to spending time with Gary this morning. There has been high turnover of employees prior to him taking over, which is something Gary strives to change. He honestly seems concerned about integrity and knows that not all of us can be pleased, however putting out a fair deal is his concern, as is honesty and integrity. We listened to each other and I am confident that if you visit this dealership, you will be pleased. I got a fair price on my new CX-3 and I now can honestly say I got great customer service. It is hard to deal with someone who feels things won't go properly and Gary, Cody and Gabriel took time to make certain I understood that they are willing to listen and work things out with me, and to my surprise that meant they were willing to back up the Saleswoman's promises and to make certain I am a happy customer. I am. A little patience, some kindness, and a bit of understanding went a long way on my part, and Gary used his patience and professionalism as well. What could have been a real disappointment turned out to be worth the hassle and time I spent hanging in there and being listened to. I also appreciated hearing Gary's side of the situation. Overall, I am happy. I stayed near my budget on the purchase, I got the CX-3 I wanted, new not used, and I hope to be a Mazda customer for life now. I will use the service department and I trust Gary when he says his goal is to have an honest dealership with great customer service. I certainly was treated with respect and dignity throughout the entire ordeal, even through the difficult part. Go visit them for your Mazda needs. I think you will be pleased. I am glad I spent the time to let them work with me to show me this will be a long term relationship, as I live far west and going to another dealership is a long drive. Avondale Mazda gets 2 thumbs up for the recovery of my great buying experience, which went bad for a moment, but is now back on track. You can't ask for more in my opinion. More

The promises are being fulfilled, in fact I already have one resolved and the other issue will be delivered upon the dealership receiving the part. I learned that the dealership has had a lot of changes recently and Gary is concerned with improving integrity and resolving issues with the customers. Patience and keeping a level head paid off, as it is difficult dealing with disappointment and remembering that things can be worked out. Overall, I am very satisfied that I purchased a CX-3. I have enough confidence in the dealership that when I need service I will return to Avondale Mazda for service. I gave 4 stars for price only because I am a super uber bargain shopper, but I got a very fair price and the dealership did all it could to meet my budget, so I chose to go slightly over what I wanted to spend, knowing I may have to buy used, but I did get a new 2019 CX-3. I have not used service yet, but the site would not let me erase the stars so I had to rate service average because I have no experience with their service department yet. If I were an average shopper, I would have given 5 stars for price. I want to add that I found the dealership to be honest with their numbers, no sneaky charges slipped in, everything was above board and Larry in finance had integrity that was stellar. More
!!! BEWARE – DECEITFUL & UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES !!! BEWARE – DECEITFUL, UNETHICAL & DESPICABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES at AVONDALE MAZDA!!! This has been, by far, the worst consumer experience I have ev !!! BEWARE – DECEITFUL, UNETHICAL & DESPICABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES at AVONDALE MAZDA!!! This has been, by far, the worst consumer experience I have ever had the displeasure of suffering. I never leave reviews, but this was so egregious and cost me so much money that I feel an obligation to speak out. These are the facts. Summary: I went to Avondale Mazda on January 16, 2019, with pre-approved USAA financing at 3.09% APR, but the dealer ignored that and instead took out a Mazda financing loan in my name, without my knowledge or consent, at 6.5% APR. They subsequently refused to fix it. Details: My father and I came into the dealership on the evening of Wednesday 1/16/2019. I was using the USAA car buying service, and had already completed my inquiry to Avondale Mazda through this service. I also already had pre-approved financing from USAA at 3.09%. I made very clear to the salesman, as well as the finance manager, that we (my father was a joint loan applicant, and present throughout all discussions that night) would not be using the Mazda financing. During our finance discussions and paperwork review, I was in fact on the phone with USAA throughout the process. I asked the finance manager if he needed to talk to USAA or get any more info from them, and asked vice-versa to USAA. He assured me that he had everything he needed, and that all the financing through USAA was set-up. I drove the new 2018 Mazda6 home the next evening. The next week I discovered a (surprise!) Mazda auto loan on my Chase account (Mazda Lending finances through Chase). This was NOT the USAA loan, as I was expecting. I immediately called USAA, and was told that the dealer never sent them back their funding request. I then talked to the dealership, and was told that it was unlikely they would be able to do anything about the Chase/Mazda loan. So now I was stuck with a loan at more than double the interest rate of the original, approved USAA financing. We contacted the General Manager (GM) at Avondale, and he told us he would look into the Chase/Mazda loan and see if he can cancel it. That was the last time we heard from him, despite many, many attempts to reach him. The majority of times we call the dealership, we get cold transferred to an answering machine. It has been an absolute nightmare trying to get in contact with anyone there. This despite the fact that we have always been pleasant and reasonable with them. In late February I re-financed the Chase/Mazda loan with another USAA loan. However, with a re-finance, you don’t qualify for the same interest rate as an original loan, so our new rate was 3.59% instead of 3.09% - a full half percentage higher APR. I had to make a payment to Chase for the accrued interest on the Chase/Mazda loan, and I’m now stuck with the extra 0.50% interest on the new USAA loan. Thus, it cost me an extra $627 just to get the same monthly payments as I was supposed to have in the first place. All while the dealership had ignored multiple calls over several weeks. Finally, my father flew back to Phoenix and we went together to the dealership. We met with the General Sales Manager who offered to both help and to have the GM call me the next day. The GM never called. A week later the finance manager called and told me that the dealership would try to help with my extra out-of-pocket expenses, but none of that came to fruition. I finally went in again to the dealership, for the fourth time since after buying the car, and that’s when the finance manager informed me that the GM would not do anything to help us. I also spoke with the sales manager, who implied that the GM thought we were lying because people come in all the time trying to get money. Additional facts: - According to Avondale personnel, the original finance manager we worked with was fired a couple days after I purchased the car. In addition, I was also told by those same personnel that he apparently had a history of shady and unethical procedures. - I was also told that my car has a system called SWAT GPS (an anti-theft tracking system). Shortly after buying the car, it began beeping at me every time I started the engine. Each time, the car would beep for longer and longer. This happens when SWAT GPS is installed, but not activated. Again, I called the dealer multiple time over several weeks to get this resolved. Finally, I was informed I did not actually pay for the SWAT GPS system (that was news to me), but rather a “theft protection” package which is simply etched windows. Hundreds of dollars, by the way. The finance manager absolutely did NOT explain that, but instead I was certain that the SWAT GPS system was included in the total cost of the car. Avondale also refused to fix this problem, and nearly 2 months after buying the car, it still beeps at me every time I turn it on. - I still haven’t received my license plate (today is 3/6) despite purchasing the car on 1/16. I have also had to call multiple times about this as well. - Nearly every time I call, I am transferred to a voicemail. - They did not give me copies of all paperwork when I initially bought the car. The finance manager told me he was giving me everything, and handed me an envelope. It had a couple things, including the purchase order, but nothing about financing, nor did they give me a copy of the contract. I was unable to get a copy of my contract, or any financing information, for nearly a month and a half after buying the car. More
Purchased a new CX-9 from a great guy! We went in to look at the CX-9 and ended up trading our Nissan in for a new Mazda. The best part of our experience was the salesman, Juan H., and Larry who is the finance guy. Juan had done his homework.....very intelligent and prepared.....but the best thing about his is how nice he is! He is a honest and "up front" young man who worked very hard to get us the best deal. The second best part of our experience was Larry, who got the financing approved and also was very easy to deal with because he was so nice! He knew what he was doing and made the whole process very easy. These two guys are the reason we bought at Avondale. Oh, and we told the general manager we absolutely would not pay for some extra stuff the dealership added on to the price so he said "no problem" and just removed that stuff for us! Great customer service Isaiah was so helpful from the minute i stepped into the dealership. I was pretty hesitant coming in and he was able to put my worries at ease. Good buying experience My wife and I were considering trading in our 2 cars and only have one. I did my research and knew what my price was going to be. Tommy is young and eager but not pushy. He did an excellent job taking care of us. We also dealt with Mack. He worked hard to get to a price we could both agree on. The only problem was I was NOT aware or the dealer installed options to the tune of $1288. This extra amount was VERY close to a dealer breaker. Something has to be done to inform the buyer of the dealer options sooner in the buying process. Other than that the experience was as pleasant as buying a new vehicle can be. It did take much longer than I expected to finalize the sale. More
