As much as we appreciate the feedback from our customers we also compelled to get the correct information out to our past and future customers. We accepted your Costco offer so I'm not sure where the shady tactics came in. You wanted to take delivery of the new vehicle without funds in house and wouldn't sign half of the paperwork including the purchase agreement for 45 minutes. We spent another 15 minutes or so trying to get you to sign the title application. It is standard operation to get funds and/or an approval before delivering a new or used vehicle due to liability on behalf of Horne Mazda Avondale. Which was explained thoroughly when I came in the finance office. Also the interest rate we were able to get was 2.99% not 3.49% like your mentioned on the feedback and I offered to buy down the rate difference by lower the Sale Price $612.00. Our goal here at Horne Mazda Avondale is to get the customer the best rate we can or try to match the customer's preapproved rate. With the car market being as competitive as it is we instructed our salesperson to deliver the vehicle to you to continue 100% customer satisfaction. We just as many dealers in the market continue to strive on honest sales methods, which we have always done!

We did get a great vehicle at a great price, because we worked for that price and knew what we were doing. Thank you for providing the Costco discounts that we asked for as Costco customers. That's your obligation in order to be considered a Costco partner by Costco. You had not previously discounted the options by 15%, which is part of the Costco program. We did have to point that out and you fixed it by giving us that discount. Thank you. However, the headaches started after that, when financing became the next step. As soon as you knew you couldn't beat the financing terms that we came in with, all attempts to switch to your lenders should have ended. Plain and simple. You tried to squeeze out as much profit as you could with what opportunities you had remaining. You say you're "buying down the rate difference" by discounting $612. That an "immediate" discount that doesn't account for interest accrual over the life of the loan. Over the course of 6 years, I would end up paying you/your lender an additional $1500 (approx) if I go with your rate AFTER your $612 "discount". That doesn't save me money, but instead costs me more. Regarding taking delivery of the vehicle, we actually did NOT want to take delivery at the end of the night. We could have taken delivery had you accepted our lender the first time around. Our bank could have wired you the money. Instead, you pushed your own lenders/rates and used up the time that our bank was open. After that, we were no longer interested in taking delivery that day. You were even trying to push a "backup contract" so that we COULD take delivery. But your backup contract was based on your lenders and your higher APRs. We weren't willing to sign that contract and had no problem leaving without the vehicle. We actually don't need a vehicle for another 5 months, so we were in no hurry. You can try to keep spinning this as if we are customers who are upset about not being able to take delivery same day. However, we are smart customers (with excellent credit scores (top 3%) who came well-prepared and informed on your car prices, existing lender APRs at 3 different banks, and what we could expect to pay. We were kind and personable to everyone on your staff.....even as we had to keep declining shady documents that gave you free reign to go with any lender you want and change our interest rate at will (you know that document... and so does your financing dept.) We wouldn't sign it. I'll wrap up by saying this: I caution all prospective customers to know which lender you are going with UP FRONT and know the APRs available before you shop. Do not accept (at face value) this dealer's attempts to help you secure "better terms" for financing. READ EVERYTHING before signing anything. Do not sign a document you disagree with or does not match what you thought was agreed on, no matter how far into the purchasing process you are. You stand to save yourself thousands of dollars and 4 - 6 years of financial regret.
