I was looking at the TSX. It was an immensely pleasant experience being at this dealership. I got a lot of useful information (I had researched the car in detail on Edmunds.com and many other places on th experience being at this dealership. I got a lot of useful information (I had researched the car in detail on Edmunds.com and many other places on the web thoroughly prior to going in, but I still learned things from this knowledgeable and pleasant person - like the fact that the white paint is now different, as the previous source was destroyed in the earthquake/nuclear incident in Japan - and he showed me the actual difference on the new TL vs. the TSX model of a year ago. The details in the difference between shades actually make a difference to me (and the number of embedded mica particles), as I very much like the pearlized white; the paint is now different not only for Acura but for the other dealerships that used the same source - which is most of the Japanese ones). He was also aware of exactly what they were getting in over the coming many months (he is in charge of inventory), and at no point did he try to talk me into a car that I didn't want (which almost nobody does out there. It is most common to try to talk one into buying something that they have on the lot to get rid of inventory and to assure a sale - and they had a good lineup of cars in the back). It is also common to try to create a feeling of scarceness of a model, to try and instill fear and push a person over to buying something they don't want. At no time did Michael do any of the many undesirable things that salespeople at general dealerships so commonly do. I want the 2012 Special Edition TSX in a manual 6 speed, which should be hitting the market at the end of this month. I go to a LOT of dealerships (I love cars, especially manual shift performance oriented cars with some luxury, and I've had reason to shop with my teenagers lately). I've never had the experience of not wanting to get away from the salesperson before. I stayed for several hours, making fine comparisons that I needed to think about alone, so that I could concentrate and let the important details sink in. Michael was there when I needed to ask some questions, but was wonderful at giving me lots of space with no pressure (and there were not at the time other clients to attend to on a weekday at that particular time of day). This is the next most expensive purchase to a house, so it is quite very important to get it right, and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to fully explore and to allow myself to form impressions that are pure (I looked at other cars while I was at it, as I have three teenagers who are really good drivers, and they will also need cars). This dealership has been there for years. They serve the Stanford community (and others of course), and their building is owned by them and paid for (which means they don't have a huge overhead to feed). They are not flashy. Their building has an older facade, but the quality there seems outstanding. In fact, I remember years ago several people at Stanford telling me how great this dealership was. Acura makes great cars, and this place is a fantastic source. They're not out to gouge people, the margins are a lot smaller today anyway, and I will most certainly go back to this place (as I would very much rather give my money to a dealership and person who I respect). I expect that they will give me a very fair deal (I do know my prices, including details about kickbacks and other such). So often salespeople in dealerships of various sorts don't EVEN know their own cars (I often find that I know more about the specific models than they do, at least, as I generally go in prepared, know the specs, know the differences between trims and know both what I don't want and what I do want. Or dealerships often try so very hard to get your name and phone number, only to spam you with inappropriate information about cars that you've made clear that you're NOT interested in. I wasn't even asked for my contact information; I was politely handed a card with everything including Michael's email, and it is up to me to contact him with questions or everything or anything I may need. I love it!!!!!! And he's bright. I appreciate a good brain. He's able to read a person and act according to what that personality needs. It is so nice not to be insulted with all that goes on at other dealerships! It is a difficult job, dealing with the public. I recognize and appreciate the fact that this is not necessarily an easy job, and I'm grateful that Michael was able to be so very useful and professional in the face of the difficulties that he must face about constantly in this job and with the public. This one gets 5 stars! More
Thanks to this awfull salesperson, not only will i never by a car from this dealership......I WILL NEVER BUY AN ACURA. I don't think it is ever appropriate for a salesperson to insult a potential customer. by a car from this dealership......I WILL NEVER BUY AN ACURA. I don't think it is ever appropriate for a salesperson to insult a potential customer. Sales person snickered when we told him we looked at Mazda. Get over yourselves Acura your cars are NOT MErcedes or BMW - trust me if people had the money they would never look at your awfull cars. I will do my best to see to it that you go out of buisiness. I was shopping 2007 MDX in May, 2007. I sent several emails to local dealers, including this one. The email came back from this dealer is one of the most polite. The emails asked me for their 12 mile emails to local dealers, including this one. The email came back from this dealer is one of the most polite. The emails asked me for their 12 mile unique test drive, but did not directly gave me the quote. So I replied in a courteous way, that we should agree on the price before going over there. The salesperson (Jerry) replied that he understood this and knew that I had other quotes, and asked what my target price was. I told him my target price, one hour later, he agreed my price. So we went the dealership on the weekend to sign the paper. The entire experience is almost flawless except one - during signing the paper with the general manager (Richard), I noticed that one of the accessories (all weather floormat) that I requested is not in the agreement. Richard checked with Jerry that indeed, the accessory is in the email. Richard came back to us and said he would not have agreed on the price if he knew this accessory was in the agreement. I said OK, I can go find another deal. Richard pretended to "reluctantly" agree the accessory in the paper without price increase. So we signed paper and paid. Because this is a smallish dealership, they did not have the vehicle in stock and have to trade with others, I need to wait few days before picking-up the vehicle. More
I concur with another review here about how we were treated at this dealership. IT WAS HORRIBLE. There are two Michaels that work there, so I'm sorry to say I don't recall the persons last name that we treated at this dealership. IT WAS HORRIBLE. There are two Michaels that work there, so I'm sorry to say I don't recall the persons last name that we spoke to. Like an early reviewer, my father and I countered offers back and forth. We were telling him prices that other dealerships offered and he straight up told us we weren't telling the truth. Plus he was treating us like we were stupid. Once I told him we wanted to pay in cash his attitude changed really quick. All of a sudden I wasn't stupid anymore. We left very unsatisfied saying we'll just go to the last dealer we visited before him and buy from there. He said, "Go back crawling to the other dealer? You're going to lose you pride!" While we left the manager came out and said we were making a huge mistake. Whatever. It's not about the pride, it's about the savings, I think. I'm not sure if its really these dealers giving review of themselves because these guys fit bad used dealers to a T, don't like 'em don't trust 'em. More
Just purchased a 2005 MDX thru Joe Sid. My communications with him was through e-mail. I must say that his e-mails were very specific and thorough in answering my initial questions. Very qui communications with him was through e-mail. I must say that his e-mails were very specific and thorough in answering my initial questions. Very quick in responding. Can't say that was the case with other dealerships. My meeting with him was a pleasant one. He spent a good amount of time during our test drive giving us a chance to drive local roads and freeways. Well thought out route. Joe Sid is very knowledgeable on the MDX. He spent 2.5 hrs going over every aspect of the car before driving off. Excellent job!! Overall an excellent experience. Highly recommend Hopkins Acura, especially Joe Sid. Thanks Joe!!!! More
We just purchased a new car from Hopkins Acura and it has changed the way I feel about buying cars -- It was an incredibly pleasant experience from start to finish! We talked to many other Acura salespeop changed the way I feel about buying cars -- It was an incredibly pleasant experience from start to finish! We talked to many other Acura salespeople throughout the Bay Area before talking to Joe Sid at Hopkins, and we simply felt Joe was far more deserving of our business than anyone else. Joe exuded the "customer first" and "whatever it takes" principles throughout the process -- Joe listened to our needs and desires instead of dictating what we should get, he was very upfront about pricing and options, he showed great follow through, and he was just one heck of a nice guy. The sales manager, Richard Wood, was also very pleasant to work with. I cannot recommend Joe and Richard highly enough -- anyone in the market for an Acura in the Bay Area should give Joe @ Hopkins a call. More
Wow. Can't say enough good things. I have used auto brokers for my last several auto purchases because I had come to hate the "usual" dealer practices of high pressure sales, bait and switch, etc. <br brokers for my last several auto purchases because I had come to hate the "usual" dealer practices of high pressure sales, bait and switch, etc.

This experience has single handedly changed my mind. Since 1990, I have purchased 3 Acuras and a Honda from Michael Andrews at Hopkins and dealt with both Michael Quigley and Richard Woods. My car buying experience couldn't have been any better. Their prod Michael Andrews at Hopkins and dealt with both Michael Quigley and Richard Woods. My car buying experience couldn't have been any better. Their product knowledge is second to none, as evidenced by an explanation of all the car's features at delivery. There was no sales pressure and they made me feel totally at ease. Although two of the three vehicles were in high demand, they did not load the cars with needless options just to drive the price up as other dealers were doing. They followed through after the sales to make sure everything about the cars were to my satisfaction. I have referred many friends and acquaintances that have also purchased from them and they have all had great experiences as well. I would recommmend Hopkins to anyone thinking of purchasing an Acura. They pride themselves on total customer satisfaction which is quite evident in every aspect of the sale. More
