Treated with the deceit indicative of stereotypical salesman Ben and another employee, John Roberts (who was not listed for review), worked with me to try to buy a used CR-V. I am a new grad from college, so I h Ben and another employee, John Roberts (who was not listed for review), worked with me to try to buy a used CR-V. I am a new grad from college, so I have very little credit. Instead of warning me that this would make financing difficult (which was either out of inexcusable ignorance, or intentional deceit), they strung me along for hours going through the motions of the initial purchasing process. They told me I would need to come back in the next couple of days once they found out if I was approved or not. The next day, we schedule an appointment for the following day because I was told by Ben "you've been approved." I very clearly state that I am coming in from out of town and still he insists on an appointment, so I am feeling pretty confident and excited. When I come in they show me a car that I had neither discussed with them or even wanted to see. They regretted to inform me the DAY BEFORE I MADE A SPECIAL TRIP INTO TOWN that I wasn't approved for the original car, and instead they tried to sell me a brand new CR-V that was significantly more expensive. When I tried to tell them I wasn't interested for it was WELL out of my budget, they persisted, trying to convince me that it was worth my while. Not only was I blatantly lied to on the phone, but they tried to take advantage of the fact that I was young, hoping I could be convinced to make a fiscally irresponsible decision for their benefit. Needless to say, I did not get that car, nor will I EVER be returning to that dealership. And I assure you, everyone I know has or will hear of this atrocious behavior. More
